As the door slammed, I just sat in silence.

I put my head in my hands, missing her perfect face already. A low growl escaped my throat, and I knew that if I didn't get out, I'd go mad. Slowly and sneakily, I slid the window open, the fresh air caressing my cheek. The night was like a black rug, settled over all the houses, only broken by the occasional star or streetlight.

I swung my legs over the sill and...

With a whooshing noise, I sliced through the air and in the next instant my feet were flat on the grass. Immediately all the air escaped my lungs, and I regretted not drinking some more blood before setting out. I soon recovered, however, and my legs moved wit such speed I was at Cassandra's house in a matter of seconds. I strained my ears. She was awake- pacing. Craning my neck I saw the grey and red walls of her room.

Right.

Now to test my strength.

I ran backwards, and the launched myself at the wall, using the cracks between the bricks as hand and foot holes. As I reached her room, I just peered through the window. Sure enough, she was pacing the room, sighing and looking quite annoyed. I knocked on the window, and she gasped, turning and unlocking it quickly.

"In!" She hissed.

I obeyed, clambering into her room, and jumping as she banged the window down. I listened out again- luckily John and Fiona were still sleeping.

"What the hell Lucas!?" She didn't sound angry, just confused.

"Im sorry, it's just I..."

I didn't get to finish my sentence. She closed the space between us, and pressed her lips against mine.

If I had a heart, it would be beating double time. Her kiss, so gentle and sweet, was over so soon.

"No. Cassandra. Again." I managed, winding my arms around her neck.

She kissed me again, not so gentle this time, her hands snaking up into my hair, pushing me closer to her. I broke away this time, moving my lips to her ear.

"I should go." I whispered, but she shook her head, and soon enough I was back in heaven, and Cassandra was my angel.
