"Lonelyyyyyy! I'm so lonelyyyyy! I have nobodyyyy! All on my ownnnn!"

"SHUT UP!!!!" I yelled, as Barty belted out the only part of the song he knew. Again.

"Look, I'm a talking cat, not much for me to do around here!"

"Go kill another possum or something!"

"Boooring!" He drawled, rolling over.

"It's the weekend! Chat up some lady cats!"

"I have a wife and three kids."

"What!? Never mind. Go bother them."

"Can't, her mother's round, and she's got something against me- Dunno what."

"Is it the fact that you're a murderous, scheming, talking, UNBELIEVABLY annoying moggy, with nothing better to do than sing the same song over and over, and moan about the fact that your mother in law hates you!?"

"Meh, could be. Or it might be about the fact that I broke her glasses once."

"Cats wear glasses?"

"WORE. If she'd tried to wear 'em after I'd finished with 'em, she'd have an eye out!"

"Right." I sighed, turning over. I glanced at my phone, lying oh-so innocently on my bedside table, next to my lamp/weapon. If I could just text Cassandra- No. I wouldn't bother her. Or would I? No. I wouldn't. AGH!

"Now, I see you're a little at war with yourself there..." Barty sighed, playing with a bit of fluff, "So I'll put you out of your misery. I don't exactly know how to put this, but... Call the girl. Hey, I did know how to put it!"

Was the cat right? I reached for my phone and grasped it in my right hand. Hmm. Hesitating for a fraction of a second, I typed in her number.

Ring ring.

Ring ring.

"Hey Cassandra, it's Lucas. I was just talking to my cat- er, cousin, and he suggested I call you, so here I am! I just wondered, would you like to go to Pastarama on Sunday? Just to talk. Er. Bye?"

I hung up.

"Smooth." Barty chortled.

"Says you. You're a talking cat."
