The weekend went by faster than a fast thing. Soon I found myself in my room (again), pacing (again), and thinking about Cassandra (...again). Changes are good though, eh?
"Lucas! Have you had blood today?" Janesse called up the stairs. Er...
"Yes!" No.
"Liar, come down here!"
"Ok!" Dangit.
Downstairs, Vikrum was sat at the table, on his laptop, tapping at the keyboard rapidly. He looked up as I approached.
"Hey Lucas. I have a bit of news." He said.
"Vampires can't get pregnant." I muttered, gulping my blood.
"Thats not it. Me and Janesse are going out for the weekend. Alone. So you'll be here. Alone."
"Whoop. Can I go now?"
"Lucas. When I say ALONE I mean ALONE. No parties, no girls, and don't go bothering Cassie."
"Cassandra."
"Right. We'll be gone in an hour."
"Bye!" I waved and walked up to my room, for some more pacing and thinking about Cassandra. Rah. I need a hobby.
Barty stretched out on my bed, his claws extended. They could kill a HUMAN. I swear. I got Barty from a market in one of Noosedale's neighboring towns. It was full of all kinds of junk, from golden coins, to garden gnomes, beachballs to budgies. This crazy old lady had a bunch of kittens in a box- free to a good home- and so I had a look. They immediately ran to the entrance, all whiskers and fuzzy ears. But one black one strode lazily, tail in the air, fangs potruding. I think he knew I was a vampire. But who cares, cats can't talk.
"Yes we can, you just have to listen- stupid boy." Said Barty. Wait. Said BARTY?
"B...Barty? What the heck! You can't talk!"
"Stupid and now deaf? No wonder Cassandra hates you."
"Ok. Ok... I have a talking cat..."
"Back up baldy! You don't HAVE me. I'm a cat. I am my own owner."
"Baldy?"
"Yeah, you only have hair on your head, under your arms, and--"
I cut him off, "Yeah yeah. Ok, so how long have you been talking?"
"Forever. You never listen do you? I've been laughing at you ever since you started fancying the socks off that Cassandra, I was in hysterics!"
"I thought you had a furball! Besides I don't fancy the socks off Cassandra."
"Bullpoop. Yes you do. I swear on my nine lives you want to--"
I cut him off again, "Ok, change the subject. Can Cassandra hear you?"
"If she can she's hiding it well."
I sat back on the bed, staring at my talking cat, and- once again- thought of Cassandra.
