I was sitting in history texting Cindy, telling her how much I hate this small ass town. When there was a clatter next to me. I turned my head to see someone had fallen off their chair, he was hot. Maybe this small ass town ain’t so bad. He was probably trying to see who the new girl was texting. I straighten my top out and fixed my jeans before going back to texting.

“Cassandra.” Mrs Savage I think was her name, shouted at me. I raised my eyebrow at her and put my phone back in my pocket. “Give me your phone now.”

“How about no?” I snapped back, I heard a couple ‘oohs’ around the class. Man this woman can sure glare at you.

“Give it to me or I’ll put you in detention on your first day.” She said it like I was bothered.

“Do I look like I care? No.” I said. She wrote out a detention slip and handed me it.  I wanted to annoy her. “Can you not hold on to it for me?” I asked and sighed. She slapped it down on my desk and walked away. I glared at this guy sitting next to me. When the bell went, I was out of there and walking to the lunch room.

This place was busy and beside I knew no one. Gerald Jervis, who I sat next to in registration, came up to me.

“Hey Cassandra.” He said.

“It’s Cassie.”  I told him firmly, he nodded.

“Come sit with me and my friends.” He pointed to a table full of Jocks and players.

“Yeah sure.” I put on my best fake smile – which was pretty good – and sat down next to all these guys. I didn’t have any other choice it was either this or be a loner. Not a good choice for the day.

They were all talking about football, that’s when I joined in, seriously they looked at me as if I had three heads. But I shook it, the bell went and I left to go to class, I was walking down the hallway when someone bumped into me.

“Hey, watch where you going!” I shouted at him, he turned to  face  me and it was the jerk that got me detention.  His blonde fell at his eyebrows and those blue eyes piercing my skin. He smirked, I walked away as fast as I could.

The rest of day was one word – Boring. Some other teachers gave me detention for the rest of the week when all I did was answered my phone, outside of the class room!  Now I am walking to detention, I text Uncle John and told him I would be late. When I walked through the door there was no teacher then I saw the jerk that got me here in the first place.

“You!” I shouted and his head snapped in my direction. “This is your fault, I’m here! You had to make it obvious I was texting! Didn’t you?” I said and slammed my hand on the desk. It looks like it doesn’t hurt in movies but it fricking hurts like a bitch.

“I was curious okay! I just wanted to see what- what page you were on…” Two things were wrong with that sentence he gave me. He stuttered and trailed off.

“Okay, I don’t know you. So listen here jerk, if you ever make me get a detention again. I will kill you.” I told him.

He smirked at me and said, “I’d like to see you try.”

“You seriously don’t know when to shut that mouth of yours!” I shouted and punched his face. I didn’t mean to, it just happened.

“Whoa, did you break a nail?” He asked. I walked away and sat down in the desk furthest away from that jerk.
