I woke up with a crick in my neck and a sore back. My fault for sleeping in the armchair. I groggily opened my eyes to see that Cassandra had left. Good. I hated her.

"No you don't." Barty sang from the couch. He stuck his pointy little tongue out at me.

"You're a mind reader too? Great."

"Lighten up dude. I can see you're lovestru-- Uh, annoyed. So just forget her. Cancel the date."

"You were the one who told me to call her!"

"I was out of my mind, clearly. Now, do you want a cup of coffee or what?"

"You can't make coffee. Can you?"

"No but you can. 2 sugars and cream instead of milk!"

"Ugh! I'm not making you any coffee! Go and see your kids!"

"Ah. The kids. Y'see, my kids have been alive for 8 months. But in 8 months, they're equivalent to 15 year old humans. You think human puberty is bad, you should see cat puberty. It sucks."

"Right. Well I'm not gonna cancel now. I just hope she hasn't forgotten."

"Oh please, she's the first girl you've asked out in 156 years. She's gonna remember."

And with that he left, tail in the air.
