I sat in my room, with my suitcase waiting for Cindy to arrive to pick me up. I haven’t told anyone expect Uncle John and Aunt Fiona, I just said I needed a break they understood telling me I could stay away for three weeks, no more. I walked down stairs with my suitcases when I heard the front door go, I saw Daniel and Cindy standing there. Somehow even though I felt like my heart had been ripped out, I smiled at them.

“Hey, you ready?” Daniel asked and I nodded, he took my suitcase to the car while I said to goodbye.

“I’ll be back before you know it. I love you.” I hugged them and they walked as the car backed down the driveway, this is it. I’m going back to New York for three weeks. As soon as we left Noosedale I sighed, I was going to miss that stressful little town and like I said I’ll back in three weeks, my phone rang. It was Savvy I should tell her at least. “Hello?”

“Cassie thank god, I’ve been trying to get hold of you for days. Are you in a car?” She asked.

“Uh, yeah… I’m going back to New York for visit.” I told her.

“Oh, is everything okay with you and Lucas?”

“He left Savvy, he left without saying bye to me.” I whispered.

“I swear I’m going to kill that boy.” She shouted.

“I have to go, I’ll lose signal soon, and I love you. I’ll be back soon.”

“Bring me something back and I love you too Cassie!” She hung up and my phone was back  in my pocket.

I fell asleep and when I woke up we were in New York, I watched the cars whizz past us. I missed New York traffic, I missed New York coffees and I missed New York all together. This was my home, not in Noosedale, where they have no respect to even say goodbye. I climbed out of the car and ran into a coffee shop ordering my usual, I drank it and smiled.

“Oh man, I’ve missed these.” I tell Cindy as I sit down, Daniel dropped us off.

“Tell me about this guy.” Cindy said.

“He really was amazing, he didn’t sugar coat anything. At first I hated him, but thought he was hot. And now, he’s away, he just left and didn’t say goodbye. I want to forget he exists.” I sighed and took a drink of my coffee. “If I ever see him again, I would punch him again.”

“Again?” She smiled.

“I may have punched him when I first met him, twice. But he got me landed in detention!” I defended myself. “I’ve missed you Cindy, can we just be like the friends we used to be?”

“Of course, I’ve loads of stuff we can do.” She grabbed my hand. “Call a taxi!”

I stood on the road a little, waving my hand and I shouted. “Taxi!” God it’s been so long since I done that. One came up and we climbed in.

“Where to?” He asked.

“Statue of liberty.” Cindy said and he drove off, we arrived there Cindy paid him and we got on the ferry. “You lived in New York for most of your life and never visited this. I thought we should do it together.” I smiled at her. We got off the ferry and I looked at the statue of liberty. It was huge.  We sat down and looked at the water.

“I miss him.” I admitted and Cindy hugged me from the side. “I don’t why, he’s a jerk and only cares about himself. I can’t help but miss him.”
