I heard people arguing and I opened my eyes sleepily. Janesse, Vikrum and Lucas were sitting at the dinner table shouting.

“What do you mean you told her?” Vikrum’s deep voice asked.

“I had to!” Lucas hissed.

“We told you not to bother her!” Janesse snapped. “Now what are we going to do with her?”

They were planning on doing something with me, oh god… There vampires. They are going to bite me and drain my body of my blood. I can’t die, not yet, no I’m far too young. I touched my neck and felt two holes there. I slid onto the floor and started to crawl towards the door. This was the only way I could maybe live, the key word being maybe. I was nearly at the door when someone appeared in front of me, I would not look into their eyes. I stared at their feet, Janesse. No wonder she’s so pretty, she’s a bloodsucker.

“Where are you going Cassie?” She asked me and I didn’t move or speak. She pulled me up to face her. I moved back and tripped over my own feet, I fell to the ground.

“G-Get away.” I stuttered and looked her in the eyes. I would not go down without a fight. I stood up and faced her. “You fucking-” We were moving and fast like Lucas did. I was flopped onto a couch.

“This is my little chill out room.” She sat next to me. “Cassie, we don’t want to kill you or drink you’re blood.”

“Do all of you drink blood?” I asked.

“We need it to survive.” She touched my shoulder and I pulled away from her shaking my head.

“I got attacked by one of you last night, why should I think you don’t want to kill me or drink my blood?” I snapped and stood up. “I can’t take this, I need to leave.” I muttered, Janesse flashed in front of me with fangs. I gasped and moved away. “Janesse, I thought you...” I trailed off as puked on her feet.

“I only wanted to scare you so I could talk to you, you didn’t have puke on my Gucci’s.” She muttered.

“Sorry I puke when I get scared.” I mumbled.

“Cassie, not all vampires are the same.” Her tone was patronizing me, like I was child.

“Yeah, right.” I scoffed.

“We used to be human, every human is different like every vampire is different. You’re safe with us, don’t worry.” She moved closer and I moved further away. “What is it going to take for you to realize I don’t want to hurt you?”

I looked to her and looked back down, “Nothing can convince me you don’t want to hurt me, because in the end human or whatever can always hurt you.”

“We are vampires not whatever.” She laughed at mine choice of words. “You speak very wise for your age Cassie, who hurt you?” She asked once she sobered up from her laughing.

“I.. Look it doesn’t matter who hurt me.” I told her.

I would tell you if I knew.  I thought to myself.

“Do you trust us?” Janesse asked me and I nodded. “You’re not scared are you?”

“I just want answers.” I said.

Janesse led me downstairs to the dinner table, sitting me next to Lucas.
