Chapter 30
Bailey's POV
I walk into the the physics classroom, taking a seat in the front row. The professor is usually late every day, so I take out a book and begin to read. I zone out all of the surrounding noise; students entering the room, back packs being zipped open, conversations between different people. I'm sucked into the world of romance.
"Hello?" Someone taps my shoulder.
I'm torn away from the novel and I look up to see Brandon staring down at me.
"Are you okay? I asked you how your break was, but I guess you didn't hear me.." He trails off.
"Oh, sorry Brandon. This book is really good," I lightly laugh.
He glances over to read the title, nodding in approval. His bag is taken off and drawn over the back of the chair next to mine. Brandon sits down, and I gulp. It's not that I don't like Brandon- he is a very nice boy, it's just that if Niall ever hears that he was talking to me, he'll freak out. He has warned him multiple times of keeping his distance.
I wish Niall had chosen the same physics class as I did for the second semester. I miss him being in two classes with me instead of one. I wonder if he knows that Brandon is in this class..
"So how was your break?" Brandon repeats.
"Oh, uh it was nice.." I pause, thinking over whether I should bring up the fact that Niall and I are back together. For all he knows, I'm single. My brain suddenly clicks: that is why he is being friendly to me! Brandon thinks I'm not dating Niall. "It was great to be home," I conclude.
"Nice," he smiles at me.
I politely grin back, turning away to slide the forgotten book into my backpack. The professor walks in shortly after, silencing the rooms discussions. He explains the day's assignment and we quickly get to work.
"Want to work together, Bailey?" Brandon speaks up when the professor says we can work in partners.
"Um..sure," I whisper.
Niall is going to freak, my subconscience reminds me. But how would Niall ever find out? Plus, it really isn't that big of a deal. I'm being nice and agreeing to be partners with Brandon. This isn't a big deal.
Him and I leave our seats to walk to the back of the room where a mini lab is set up for testing.
(Niall's POV)
I stare at the clock hanging on the opposite wall. My pencil taps the desk to the beat of the light ticking. Although its been less than three hours since Law, I miss my girl.
In ten seconds, class will be over and I'll surprise Bailey by picking her up from her physics class. I smile to myself. Who knew I'd be the romantic type.
"Class is dismissed."
I scurry out of the room, tugging my books along. I speed walk towards the building where her class is being held.
When I stop right outside the classroom door, I realize that I'm about two minutes early. Maybe they're just wrapping up. I peer into the window next to the door.
Instantly, I spot the brunette hair. My stomach twists into a knot when I see who is standing in front of my girlfriend. Brandon.
"That son of a bitch," I mumble under my breath.
My hands lash out to the doorknob. Stop, Niall, I repeat in my head. Bailey will get so pissed if you go in there and start something with Brandon.
