Chapter 54
Bailey's POV
"I brought your bags down for you," Mum says, walking into the kitchen where I'm sat at the counter eating my breakfast.
"Thank you," I manage to say with cereal in my mouth.
She walks back out of the room and I'm left to finish my food.
I could tell my spirits were up this morning when I woke. I'm much more happy knowing that I'll be seeing Niall in a few hours, even if I have to tell him news that might take a chip on our relationship. I'm praying that he will understand that I didn't kiss Harry back, and I hope we can work through it.
I clear the dishes I used and check my phone for the time. It's ten twenty-five and my flight leaves at eleven. I send a quick text to Niall before putting my shoes on.
"I'm leaving for the airport now, see you in a few hours :)"
My phone is slid into my back pocket just as I hear footsteps coming down the stairs. I turn to see my father walking down.
"Be safe, okay? And call when you arrive," he requests, bending down to hand me my bags.
"I will."
"How long exactly will you be there?"
"I think about two weeks. I'll be here for the rest of August."
Mum then joins us in the foyer, cup of coffee in her hand.
"I'm going to miss you, sweetie." She frowns. "I barely saw you this whole week that you were here."
My face falls, immediately feeling guilty yet again for putting my troubles in front of spending time with my family.
"I'm sorry, I-"
"Bailey, I know something has been going on. I'm your mother, I can always tell. I just hope whatever it is that's bothering you isn't making you not want to go to Ireland. If it has to deal with Niall, stay home then."
Is she trying to persuade me to stay?
Even if it does have to deal with Niall which it does, I'm still going Ireland to see him so we can talk about all of this. There is no other option, I'm going.
"I'm going to see Niall no matter what's going on."
Mum sighs, "I don't want to get in your business because it isn't my place to be, but if Niall is putting you in danger or anything really, please stay here."
My frustration is starting to build up. She doesn't understand anything going on and now she's practically trying to dig it out of me.
"I'm not in any danger. You don't know what you're talking about." My lips purse in a flat line.
"I apologize, Bailey. I didn't mean to upset you."
"Do you have something against Niall?" I fire, calling her out on that bullshit remark.
"No, I just want you to be making the right decision here. If he's putting you in danger or anything like that, I don't want you to go."
I roll my eyes at her. "Niall would never put me in danger and what is going on is not dangerous at all. Stay out of my business! And if you don't like him for some reason that you aren't telling me, I honestly don't give a shit. You don't know him like I do and you never will. And you can't try and persuade me to stay home with you people because it will never work. Nothing you say will make me want to stay here when I can be with him. I just want to be with him again. I miss Niall so much and I just need to see him."
