Chapter 34
Niall's POV
"Morning," I yawn when she enters her room again. Bailey woke me up ten minutes ago but I stayed in bed while she went to the bathroom down the hall to get ready. I got dressed during that time and retrieved my backpack from my dorm room. Chase was still asleep so I doubt he'll be at Law.
I stare at Bailey as she inches closer to me. Her skinny jeans and baggy sweatshirt look incredibly adorable on her. I sit up at the edge of the bed, spreading my thighs. She sets herself between them, looking down at me. My neck is lightly tugged forward to meet her lips. They're soft and smooth and the taste of strawberries make me chuckle against the kiss.
"I can taste your lip balm," I grin, licking my lips.
She laughs, tugging me up off the bed and to the door. Her backpack is slung over her shoulders and I do the same with mine. We step out of the room and she shuts the door, locking it behind us and placing the key in a pocket of her bag.
Down the hallway, people look at us, and I'm guessing because her and I left a room together early in the morning. The questioning glares make me hover closer to Bailey, and I possessively take her hand. My pace speeds up and I'm walking in front of her, pulling her further until we get out of Western Hall.
We're quiet for a few minutes as we walk on the sidewalk to the direction of the law building. It's chilly outside but that's expected for late December temperatures. Bailey has a scarf bundled up against her neck and she tucks her free hand into her coat.
"Oh, shit," she mumbles under her breath.
"What?"
"I told Aubrey yesterday that I'd walk with her to class this morning." A sigh escapes her pink lips.
She looks down to the pavement below us, sulking at her broken promise.
"I think she'll be okay with you forgetting, babe," I chuckle, turning my head to look at her.
Bailey mutters something along the lines of 'okay but if she's mad I'm blaming you' quietly.
"I forgot to ask you how you liked University of London last night." Her voice becomes louder so I'm able to hear.
We're one block away from the building and honestly, I've been trying to avoid this subject. I don't want to talk about the fact that I thought the school was amazing and the team is treated like royalty. The dorms are so much bigger, too.
"It was nice.." I decide to say after a moment.
She looks over to me and I try to my best to subtly shrug.
"Oh."
I can tell Bailey is playing it cool on the outside, but on the inside she is gleefully smiling, thinking that I didn't like the school and won't be doing any transfers. On the flip side, I'm acting natural for her, too, but only because I really did enjoy London as much as I hate to admit it.
"Was it a nice campus?" She presses.
"Yeah, I guess."
I open the door for her and we both make our way to the class. The people in the classroom are all bustling around, talking to each other or just yelling across the room to another person. Just as I expected, Chase isn't sitting in his seat that's next to mine.
However, right in front of my table is Aubrey who is scowling at us, arms crossed over her chest. Bailey seems to notice, and she rushes forward. I follow, settling down in back of their shared table where mine is.
