Chapter 25

Bailey's POV

I wake up the next morning and immediately get in the shower. I am anxious for Niall to come cut down our Christmas tree with us. He invaded my dreams last night. I still couldn't believe that he was sleeping under the same roof as I.

I wrap the white towel around my dripping body once I step out of the shower. The fog swarmed on the mirror in front of me makes it hard to see my reflection. I dress in jeans and a simple sweater. My hair is dried and thrown up in a messy bun. I dig out my makeup from a small bag and add a layer of eyeliner and mascara to my eyes.

I step out of the bathroom and round the corner towards the staircase. I can't stop myself from checking to see if Niall is up yet. His bedroom door is still shut and I don't dare open it. He must be sleeping.

I climb down the oak stairwell and reach the kitchen. Mum is standing by the stove flipping pancakes.

"Morning sweetie," she smiles.

"Morning," I yawn in reply.

I walk over to the refrigerator and take out the orange juice. I grab a glass, pouring in the liquid.

"Did you talk to Niall at all yesterday?" Mum questions.

"Yeah, I asked him if he wanted to come cut down the tree with us..if that's okay with you," I tell her.

"Of course it's okay. He is a sweet boy, Bailey," my mother grins.

I sit down at the kitchen table and she brings over a plate of pancakes.

"I know," I sigh.

Danny walks in soon after and sleepily traces over to me. He kisses the top of my head mumbling a "good morning." I laugh, nudging him to sit next to me. Danny pulls out the chair, and mum fixes him a plate of food.

We eat our breakfast in silence. I listen to the birds chirp outside in the garden. They fly around the flowers and bushes.

I grab a napkin from the center of the table just as Niall walks in the kitchen. He ruffles his hair, and my mouth parts while I watch him. When his eyes focus over to me I quickly turn back around in my seat. I can feel my cheeks reddening.

"Good morning, dear," Mum smiles.

"Morning, Mrs. Thomas."

God that morning voice.

"I made you a plate of pancakes. You can sit over there, if you'd like."

Even with my back turned to their conversation, I know by the tone of her voice that she is smirking at him. Her finger is probably pointing to the empty chair across from me.

"Oh, um okay."

I hear footsteps inch closer to me and he appears on the other side of the table. Niall sits down, beginning to eat. I feel like I should say something, but I don't know what.

"How are the pancakes?" I blurt.

Are you serious?!

'How are your pancakes?' How stupid does that sound! I cover my mouth, eyes widening. Niall looks up at me, clearly amused at my question.

"Fine thanks, how are yours?" He chuckles.

I pierce my eyes closed. This couldn't be any more embarrassing. I can tell Mum is grinning at us. Danny's eyebrows are creased in confusion.

"Perfect," I mumble, burrowing my face in my hands.

(Nialls POV)

I watch Bailey as she resurfaces her head. Her cheeks are tinted pink. She's so adorable when she is embarrassed. Bailey picks up her plate and rushes over to the sink, carelessly dropping it in.
