Chapter 27
Bailey's POV
Faint snores awake me the next morning. I almost shoot up, alarmed at the unfamiliar sound. When my eyelids open, I realize that it's only Niall.
His hair is tousled around in every direction, and his mouth is slightly parted. One of his arms is still draped over my body, the other laying by his side.
As best as I can, I roll over to reach my phone, still dragging his left arm with me. The screen lights up, showing the time that is ten thirty-seven. Mum and Dad are probably awake already.
I put my phone back and turn towards the boy who is now - once again - my boyfriend. I smile just thinking about last night. We learned so much about each other while we were broken up. I, for one expressed my stubbornness when I never wanted to talk to him. Niall learned that I am more fragile than he thinks I am. I will not be tossed around and picked back up when he wants me. But overall, we both learned just how much we needed each other.
"Niall.." I whisper softly.
His body stay motionless, the snores continuing.
"Niall, wake up," I add with a light giggle.
He stirs under the covers and I know that my voice is awakening him. I can't contain my laughter when I begin to poke at his round cheeks. I switch from one side to the other.
Suddenly my hand is grabbed and I let out a loud shriek. My body is tugged down to Niall's lap, my face looking up to the head peering down at me.
"What do you think you're doing?" He grins.
His raspy morning voice makes my heart flutter.
"Merry Christmas." I ignore his question.
Niall reaches down to me, gripping my sides and aiding me back up. A slow kiss is planted on my lips. He pulls away with the most cutest smile.
"Merry Christmas," Niall repeats.
I rest my head back down in the previous spot on his lap. I stare up at Niall's beautiful face while he plays with a strand of my hair.
"Did you sleep well?"
"Mhm," I nod.
"I know I did knowing that you were right there beside me."
Another swift peck is drawn from my lips.
We stay in this position for thirty more minutes, just making small talk.
"Okay, I have to eat something soon or my stomach is going to shrivel up and die," Niall abruptly states.
I laugh at his comment, rising from his lap. We both get out of bed, heading towards the door.
The crackling fire in the fireplace lights up the living room in the most festive way. Colorful stockings line the front of the brick. My mother is sat on the sofa when she notices us.
"Merry Christmas!" She chimes.
I'm engulfed in a rather tight hug.
"You too, Mum," I manage to say.
She pulls away and Niall leans forward to sweetly kiss her cheek.
"Merry Christmas, Mrs. Thomas," he smiles.
"Thank you, sweetie. It really is lovely to have you here with us."
I think over in my head if I should take this opportunity to tell my mother that Niall and I are dating again. Before I get the chance to spill, my father and brother walk in the room.
