Dear diary,
Damon is dead.
I'm not lying. He is.
And I am broken.
I am left to fend alone, and after not knowing that I needed the darker Salvatore brother; the cold, emotionless man Damon pretended he was, I do not know how to stand without support.
He was my cane, and I would never admit to it, nope, not until that cane was taken from me, unable to return.
The bottle with forever inside of it is on my end table. Does anyone think I'll actually use it? I'm on the verge of smashing it into pieces and using the shards to spill my own blood.
Crazy, right?
Or is this how love is...? Unexpected, uncontrollable, and all-consuming.
To make sure I never forget what has happened to me, I have begun to review the little and big details of my past; of my being; of my life.
I used to be on top of the world; the puppeteer of all the boys in school, and ruler over all the girls. I used to matter... but I'd rather only matter to him than to a entire population of brainwashed children.
My parents are dead and they have been for a long time. They died in a car accident, and I was saved by angels.
I am not a vampire anymore. I was kind of like an angel, but then my wings were ripped out. I was meant to be an angel.
What happened?
Stefan says to wait on forever, but why should I even bother? I don't want forever anymore, not one without Damon.
Elena
Elena Gilbert put down her pencil and let her tears spill all over the page.
"Hey." She heard softly from behind. She wiped her tears.
"Hey." She smiled weakly at Stefan. Her stomach hurt and she was getting this nagging feeling about Damon.
"I'm hun-" Her voice caught.
"Hungry." She heard her aunt call,
"Breakfast!" Everything was back to normal. She hugged Stefan, then raced down stairs to the smell of fried eggs and salty bacon.
"Yum!" Elena sat down. She usually skipped breakfast, but today she's never wanted it so badly in her life. She shoveled it down, kissed her aunt and little sister on the cheek and grabbed her boxes, packing them into her car. Elena Gilbert was going to college, rooming with Bonnie and Meredith.
"Elena!" Two familiar voices called and she turned to see Bonnie and Meredith running down the street in her direction. Suddenly, Stefan appeared beside her. She hugged him, then went back inside and looked for more of her college boxes, but they were all gone.
"STEFAN!" She yelled. He grinned when she ran back out.
"Thought you needed some help." He offered.
"No! I don't want to get used to this!" She hugged him again, then hugged her little sister waiting on the front porch.
"Bye." She called, waving. Elena joined Bonnie and Meredith in her car, feeling sad and relieved. She hid her depression well, but tears were coming just at the thought of his name. Oh Damon.. She pushed the thought away as Meredith drove farther and farther away from her house.
