"Are you registering?" Elena asked Damon hopefully. He shook his head and her face fell. Why was she surprised?

"Sorry Elena... I just... I just came back from the dead and I need to figure things out." He sucked in and licked his lips. "Like this." He pointed to his canines now grown in. She smiled, looking away.

"I can help you with that." She whispered seductively. Damon scooped her up in his arms and ran at vampire-speed back to her dorm.

She felt two razor-sharp teeth bite into her neck. She was used to it, though. Damon's lips were red when he pulled away. Elena kissed him, tasting her own blood, but not caring. She suddenly pulled away in wonder, her eyes bulged.

"What will the others think? We have to tell them that you're back, Damon!" Elena ran for the phone and dialed in a jumble of numbers. Damon stood silently behind her, holding her back against his chest. She felt cool air come off of him and she shivered.

"Hello?" A worried voice said on the other end.

"Hey! Stefan, you won't believe..." She started crying.

"Elena... are you... crying?" Stefan interrupted her.

"Yes." She said quickly. "But that's not important." She pushed her gold locks off of her sticky forehead. "What's important is that..."

"Elena, about-"

"Shhhh... Stefan... Damon's back."

"What?"

"Here I'll prove it." Elena twisted in Damon's tight hold and handed him the phone. He slowly took it and pressed it to his right ear.

"Well hell-o little brother." He said, with his usual taunting voice.

"D-D-Damon?" There was a long pause. "B-But h-how?"

"For the love of God, the angels pulled through I guess." Elena was reminded of the bitchy red-heads, the soft gold-haired ones -the one that she was going be- and then of them tearing off her wings. How she hated them and how they were going to take all of her rocket fuel -as Damon calls her blood- out of her. A big, fat tear dropped down her cheek, for she was no longer of use. Just another person to protect.

Damon slammed the phone down suddenly and kissed her softly -softer then usual- and lightly pushed her against the wall. Elena wrapped her legs around his waist and held him closer, afraid that he was going to disappear again. Elena heard a faint snap in her ears, but she didn't move an inch away from Damon's lips. Damon lifted her top high above her head and threw it -probably to a different continent. His fingers gently went up her spine and grabbed her bra clasp. An unexpected clap in her ear and a strained voice made her spring away from him.

"Hell-o." Meredith kept clapping. "We need some boyfriend rules." She stopped clapping but made a list with just her fingers. She tapped her peter pointer finger against her other palm once.

"First... sex on the bed." Damon snarled.

"We can have sex wherever we want. You're the one that has to move." Elena blushed and Damon smirked at her. Meredith ignored him, tapping her finger just once again.

"Rule two... give your roommate a head's up before your boyfriend decides to come visit from the dead." Elena rolled her eyes.

"We get it... now if you don't mind we'd like to continue from where we left off." She looked at Damon, then looked elsewhere.

"Righ-" Elena started to ask him, but Damon already had her in his arms again. Meredith scowled in defeat, but walked out of the room and slammed the door. What bothered her most was that nor Elena or Damon seemed to notice.
