Katherine felt all alone, and for once, she minded it. She's been alone for over five hundred years, on the run, never looking back. When someone she knew, died, she just continued on, not a single tear shed.
On all four paws, the sky dark, the wind blowing her white fur around and causing her orange stripes to become uneven.
She was a beautiful sight.
But something beautiful always brought on danger.
Even perfect little Elena caused the biggest problems. People died because of her; it's not like she would want to admit it, though.
Katherine leaned back on her hind legs, then leaped into a full on sprint, towards the forest. She left the boarding house's property without a last glance.
Damon surveyed the area, still in his hawk form, his beady eyes darting up and down the rows of trees.
Once he caught a flash of white movement, he scooped down and dived head-first towards the massive trees. The trees that once were controlled by Shinichi and Misao.
He peered above a branch, seeing sure enough, Katherine's -well, Elena's- animal form. She was trying to get out of here.
But Damon couldn't let her.
Because somewhere, inside of that tiger-shaped body, and somewhere behind Katherine's usual sarcastic tone, was the girl that the Salvatore brothers fell in love with.
She was slowing down, searching for something, like Damon once was, high above the top branches of the trees.
He felt kind of special, in a way, that he was the only one who knew all of this information. And he was about to find out more...
Katherine growled at the figure in front of her and Damon's head snapped up, trying to see the figure. One look at the head, covered by black and red hair, told him who it was.
Trithle.
"I thought you were a cat, Katerina." Trithle grinned and Katherine snarled, taking a threatening step forward.
Damon could tell she was communicating by telepathy and Damon strained his mind to hear what she was saying.
You know, they know, Trithle.
He could finally hear her.
Trithle didn't look threatened in the least bit. He just kept the smile on his face, his hands folded at his stomach, innocently.
"Of course I do."
Then what's the fucking wait?
Katherine spat at him.
He laughed and waved her off.
"They are stronger than you think, but I am much stronger-"
So?
Katherine, sent him, annoyed as hell, not understanding why Trithle was waiting. Waiting got nothing done. Doing what needs to be done gets stuff done.
She knew that best.
"So," Trithle was getting frustrated and angry, because she cut him off. She was still the foolish child who knew nothing, as good as she knew how to flee. "I'm waiting for the perfect moment."
He went back into a light, care-free mood, like he had nothing to worry about. Damon knew that he, himself, did, though.
And when is 'the perfect moment'?
She was amused now, giving Trithle a little annoying baby voice, to listen to.
"When everything falls apart."
