"Should we get moving, or...?" Stefan interrupted the silence. Before that, all five friends were silent. Not one peep. They all had secrets they needed to share.

But, not here, and not now.

Wordlessly, Damon, 'Elena', Bonnie and Meredith got their stuff and walked out the door. Stefan was stunned, for a moment, but then recovered and followed them out.

"Going so soon?" Trithle grinned, appearing in the hallway. They all avoided him, moving to the side to get through. "Well, see you soon!" He didn't seem bothered by their quietness, he found it rather amusing.

They were miserable, and he loved it!

Only Bonnie, Meredith and 'Elena' knew how true his words were.

Damon offered to check out, and 'Elena' said she would keep him company, while the rest went off to stand outside. Well, aside from Stefan, who offered to call a cab.

"So, what? Are you going to just... go for him?" Damon mumbled, while handing over a wad if cash to the surprised clerk, and waving off whatever he was saying.

"Uh... ya." This was an awkward conversation to have. Katherine opened her mouth again, but Stefan interrupted them, and she was just fine with that.

"Ready?" He asked and she nodded eagerly, taking his arm and steering him out of the motel. Damon scoffed, rolling his eyes, then stamped out, too.

They waited thirty minutes for the cab to come, and Damon was fuming by then. 'Elena' was getting all touchy with his little brother, and he wanted to just get out of wherever the hell they were.

Stefan got into the passenger seat, and 'Elena' got into the very back, accompanied by Damon. Meredith and Bonnie climbed onto the middle seats.

Katherine had a small bag with her, and she finally decided to look through it.

It seemed like everybody was doing their own thing; Stefan was humming along to the music, that was so low, that even the vampires in the back could barely hear it, Bonnie and Meredith were quietly discussing Trithle, Damon was watching 'Elena' and Katherine was curiously digging through the bag.

"Everyone says Elena keeps a journal-" Her hand closed around a rectangular object, and she grinned, pulling it out.

"Diary." Damon corrected her and she rolled her eyes.

"Whatever." She snorted, opening it up. She folded the first page over, and the next one, until she saw writing. "She got a new diary after you... you know, died." She tried to hide her smile behind the diary, and it was Damon's turn to roll his eyes.

"I'm gonna read it out." She whispered and began to share the real Elena's thoughts, before he could stop her. He didn't want to stop her, anyways. He wanted to hear her thoughts, since the real her wasn't actually there to express them. What he really wanted to know, was her thoughts about him, when they first met.

"'March second, four am.'" She started and Damon almost laughed at the time she was up at. "'I haven't written in forever. I know I haven't, but I didn't have the energy to. Everyone's literally force-feeding me.'" It seemed like everyone in the car had gone quiet, listening to Elena's voice share her private thoughts.

"'I feel so empty, and not even Stefan can fill the hole I have, inside of my heart. My knight is dead, and I feel like I am, too. I wish I was, anyways.'" Katherine took a deep breath, before continuing on. "'I didn't know how much my knight actually meant to me, until he was gone. I always fought my love for him, and I finally admitted, in his last few minutes.'"

These memories opened up stitched up wounds, for everybody in this van, except for the driver, of course.

"'I realized, a long time ago, that I was just as bad as Katherine. I promised myself I wouldn't follow her lead, leading on both Salvatore brothers.'" Katherine said this, in a strained voice, her hate for Elena growing even more.
