Damon looked at Elena and cried out, falling flat on his stomach in the process. No one had enough energy to help her...

no one but Stefan.

"Elena?" Her eyes rolled back into her head.

"Elena!" Stefan yelled, shaking her gently, not wanting to hurt her. He pulled off his t-shirt and held it at Elena's bare back. Blood was still flowing freely.

Bonnie was suddenly at his side with paper towels, out of her trance. She nudged his hands away and put the paper on the two deep gashes. The bright white paper towels instantly turned wet and red.

"DAMON GET UP! GET OVER HERE!" Bonnie shrieked at the lifeless black-covered figure on the floor near them. His black eyes opened and he pushed himself up, but fell back onto the floor, too weak. Bonnie ran over to him and saw his fangs cutting his lips open. She took a deep breath, took a sharp, broken piece of glass off the ground and put it lightly against her left arm. Stefan looked up at her.

"Bonnie! What are you doing?"

"He needs blood Stefan. Now." Bonnie put pressure onto the glass and cut her arm. She screamed out from the undeniable pain. She bit her lips shut and put her arm to his wide open mouth. His nostrils flared, though his eyes were closed. He grabbed her arm and locked it in place under his mouth. Not wanting to feel anymore unnecessary pain, she didn't resist. He started sucking blood out and after a minute, he was taking too much. Stefan shouted at Damon, though unable to move since the girl he loved was dead on the floor.

"Damon STOP! You'll kill her!"

Damon opened his eyes again and pushed Bonnie away from him, against the wall. He was beside Stefan in a flash, his hands hovering over Elena.

"ELENA! COME BACK! YOU'RE NOT DEAD!" Stefan shouted into her ear. He started pumping her chest and breathing air into her mouth. He paused for a second, trying to feel her heartbeat.

He couldn't feel it.

"What do we do?" Stefan cried, desperate, then he looked back at Elena and started working on her again.

"There's only one way." Damon breathed. The room went silent, except for the forced pumping of Elena's heart, waiting for his answer.

"Turn her."
