Bonnie rose up, as beautiful as a dove, as deadly as a panther, not looking like either of those animals. Her wings were one of the things that were considered 'beautiful', in this sudden, unexpected transformation.
Streaks of yellow and orange patterned it, horizontally, and the rest was dark red. Not quite like blood, no, this creature wasn't one of death, particularly, although it could deliver it, easily. This creature was one of speed and strength, known for being both good and bad.
Not one of blood, but of mythology.
Everyone's mouthes were wide open, including Trithle's, who didn't seem to be surprised by anything, except for this.
Like Elena, Bonnie, almost unrecognizable to the untrained eye, flew around and created tragedy all over the graveyard, blowing graves up. Rock crumbles burst into the air, and hit some of them in the head, causing all of them to cover the top of their heads, with their hands and arms.
Bonnie let out a horrific shriek and continued to damage the ground and stones, for no reason at all. Not even Trithle could stop her, and the two words that informed them both of her power and invincibility, rung in Elena's and Bonnie's head.
The Phoenix.
It was almost in slow motion, the smoke covering most of Bonnie's bird-shaped figure, until she walked towards them, head and arms, high in the air, her whole body, now covered by red leather.
The bright outfit, matched her radiant hair, and she sent Damon and Elena a grin. Then, everything turned around on Trithle. Stefan, Damon and Elena, instantly surrounded him, circling him, until he realized that he was trapped.
He flicked his hand to the right, and Elena's eyes flickered black, but then went back to blue, reassuring her that his powers didn't work, now.
Damon ran his tongue over his bottom lip, a smirk on his face, as he ripped a branch from a nearby tree, and touched the pointy top.
Kitsunes didn't need to be staked, to be killed, but obviously Damon felt like Trithle deserved it.
"This is for all of the shit you've put us through, even from the beginning." He spit and raised his arm back, but Trithle just laughed, stalling Damon.
"You probably don't even remember." Damon and Stefan shared a confused look, and Trithle waved them off. "Even in the beginning."
He turned to face Elena.
"When Bonnie had her hallucination, and I asked what was wrong."
He waited, for her face to light up, to laugh, throwing his head back.
"Hope you've had the chance to say goodbye." Damon fake-pouted, then thrust the wood into Trithle's chest. He mumbled something incoherent, before Damon stopped his heart, leaving only one to beat, in this dead graveyard.
Bonnie fell to her knees, and Stefan glanced at Elena, then took off after her, to aid her. Damon looked at Elena, and Elena looked at him, then collapsed into his arms.
"It couldn't have been this easy." Elena whispered, accepting all of the kisses he pressed to the sensitive skin on her neck.
"Shut the fuck up." Damon growled, moving his lips against her jawline, and to her mouth. The kisses they shared were hungry, and urgent, even though, now, they had all the time in the world.
"Would it be unforgivable, to fuck you, on this grave?" Damon's eyes glinted and Elena hit him on the arm, staring at the ground beneath them, shivering at the thought of an all-bones corpse, in the ground.
