"So um... what do I do?" Elena asked unsure of herself.

Damon, Stefan and the princess herself were standing in the middle of the woods.

"Don't think. Let your body take over. It'll feel natural." Stefan encouraged her.

"Okay..." She trailed off and closed her eyes.

There was a little noise. Just a slight snap of a twig and a little crunch of leaves, but it was enough.

Elena's eyes snapped open and revealed her growing canines.

She darted over to the frozen rabbit and snatched it off of the ground.

She sunk her teeth into it's soft stomach and soon, red stained it's white fur.

Elena let out a sigh of relief, her thirst not quite quenched yet, though.

"How was I?" She grinned up at Damon.

"Very graceful." He complemented her, smirking.

Then she looked down at the bunny and her human side took over.

A horrified expression took over her features.

"It tasted okay, but... I feel so... bad." She never took her eyes off of the beautiful hopper, who was now dead.

"And worst of all, I'm still... thirsty." She looked disgusted.

"It'll get better. You just started this new life." Damon breathed, looking at her in awe.

She blushed, then darted into his arms, leaving Stefan awkwardly standing there and trying not to look.

"Jealous, little brother?" Damon raised an eyebrow at him.

Stefan chuckled and shook his head at him.

"Just the opposite. I'm happy for you two." Stefan lied easily.

"Well that's just..." Damon was definitely uncomfortable, even with Elena in his arms.

"Weird."

Everyone laughed.

"Ready to go kill a deer?" Damon asked her.

She whined.

"Fine. Human blood it is then?"

Elena narrowed her eyes, then ran away from him, as he grabbed her butt and ventured deeper into the forest near the university.
