So instead of an actual chapter today (because chapter 4 is going to be LONG and I need more time to write it) I will let you get to know Jessie!
So this is basically what I imagine her to look like but if you don't agree with that and think of something totally different that's ok!

Jessie: Hair: Long, straight, blonde hair. Eyes: ocean blue eyes. She never wore makeup until she got adopted by Lin and Vanessa. It was always too expensive for her to get and she always spent her money on clothes and coffee. I know, Jessie does have a phone, but at the orphanage when the kids turn 12 they get a phone.
Jessie is 13 and is obsessed with Broadway and pizza. She is a mix of tomboy and girly.
Ok so I'm going to talk about Jessie's past life: a.k.a why she was in an orphanage in the first place.
Jessie's parents weren't really violent. But that was when Jessie's biological father was still alive. Jessie's father died when she was 3. He had an incurable disease and sadly passed away suddenly. When Jessie was 5 her mom met a man named Walter. Walter was divorced from his wife because he was very abusive. Walter treated Jessie's mom well but treated Jessie like crap. He was verbally and physically abusive. When Jessie started going to school, teachers noticed the bruises. They called child protective services and they took Jessie away and arrested Walter. When news of her baby was being taken away, Jessie's mother killed herself. Instead of Jessie going into foster care, she went to a local New York orphanage, the orphanage where Lin and Vanessa would, 8 years later, give her a good home. You might be wondering: why didn't one of Jessie's relatives take her in? Jessie's parents ran away and never contacted them. Even though her mother and father died when she was young, she still misses them and has vivid memories of them.
Jessie is and always has been a straight 'A' student and had made many friends. She has only had one enemy, or true enemy, and that is Anna. Jessie has no clue why Anna hates her and no one else does. Only Anna.
Her friend Amber (who goes to school with her) went to Hamilton and that's the person who got her the t shirt that she wore when Lin and Vanessa adopted her.
