Chapter 46

Lin's POV

After Reneè, Jazzy, and Pippa left, other cast members started coming in while on groups of three or four.

"MY BABY!" Leslie screams when he reaches Jessie's bedside. "WHYYY!"

"Lin, what happened?" Groff asks me.

"She tried to kill herself." I whispered to him.

"Oh my God. Lin, Vanessa, I'm so sorry." He says wrapping us into a hug.

Daveed walks in. "Holy shizzle what happened to Jessie?" He asks and I tell him.

"WAIT! SHE TRIED TO KILL HERSELF?" Leslie yells.

"Yes Leslie! Please stop yelling, it's stressful for them." Groff says calmly before I can snap. "Let's go and let the rest of the cast see her."

As more and more of the cast walks in, more stuffed animals begin to pile up. "I'm glad she has people like the cast." Vanessa says hugging me.

"Yeah." I say hugging back. Then I realize, "Toby hasn't messaged at all." Now, I know I shouldn't be overreacting, he doesn't even know what's happening, but it's 10 am, he should have messaged by now.

"Lin, he's a guy. They don't text first." Vanessa laughs. "Here I'll text him."

"Ok." I say and sing Jessie's favorite Latino phrase. "O sibili si ergo, fortibus es in ero. Nobili demis trux: sewatis enim? Cowsendux!" (Oh silly Billy see her go, forty busses in a row. No Billy, them is trucks. So what's in them? Cows and ducks) That's basically the only Latino phrase she knows.

"Lin, you don't need to overreact, he slept in. He'll come when his parents can." Vanessa tells me.

I nod. "Can you text my parents? I need them right now." I admit. "I don't know how to take care of a teen. Especially one that tried to kill herself. I love her, I really do, but I don't know what to do." I grab Jessie's hand.

"Oh Hun." Vanessa says and hugs me even tighter.

I feel Jessie's hand squeeze mine. "Niñita! Doctor! She's awake!" I yell. "V! She's awake! Mija!"
