Chapter 48

Jessie's POV

So apparently for the next few days I will be 'getting my memory back'-that's what Lin said.

"Call me dad." Lin keeps persisting me.

"But you're not my dad. I haven't had one for 10 years. What is wrong with you?" I tell him.

"Okay, this will take a while. In the meantime you have visitors." Lin says and that's when THE Daveed Diggs and Anthony Ramos walk in.

"Hey Jessie, how you doin?" Daveed asks me in a calm voice.

"You know my name?" I freak out.

"Well yeah Jessie I've known you for over a month." Daveed laughs.

"No, I've known YOU for months. Not vice versa." I say 'calmly'.

"Jessie stop acting like this. Lin, is this a prank?" Anthony asks Lin.

"No Ant. Jessie lost her memory." Lin says upset. "It's only temporary anyway.. I hope."

"What are you guys talking about?" I ask. "This is definitely a prank. I've never been adopted, 134 families."

"Mija!" Lin yells. "Look at this!" And he pulls out a video of him waking me up?

"That's fake." I say when it ends.

"It's not. Listen, you're my daughter. You may not remember that but you are." Lin sighs.

Lin's POV

I was getting absolutely no progress with Jessie and I hate it.

Everyone comes and visits, and they all get the same response. Except Pippa.

"Jessie!" Pippa yells.

"Pippa?!" Jessie yells.

"Are you okay? What happened?" Pippa asks.

"Lin says he adopted me?" Jessie says.

"Oh no. Honey he did." Pippa says and Jessie looks at her.

"No. That can't be." Jessie says. "No way."

"Yes way." Pippa says and slowly, Pippa tells Jessie EVERYTHING. And I also get hope again.
