Chapter 33

Lin's POV

During the show I saw Jessie run backstage. She's back safe and sound. She was right about what time she would be back. It was 8 something and we were singing Right Hand Man. So she kept her promise.

Le time skip

"Hi Niñita! How was the movies?" I ask her and reach for my phone.

"NO!" Jessie yells.

"What? What's wrong Mija?" I say putting my phone down.

"I need to borrow your phone. Mine died and I need to text mom." Jessie says.

"Ok Mija, you didn't need to yell." I say and go to get changed in Daveed and Javier's dressing room.

Jessie's POV

I get in Lin's phone to 'text mom'. I go to Twitter and check the notifications. Luckily it's not at the top so Lin won't see it.

"You know what Lin is going to take a while..." I say and set his home screen to a picture of me. "Might as well text mom. Make it believable."

Hi mom it's Jessie. My phone died. Just letting you know I don't feel well and might not go to the theatre with Lin. Love you-Jessie

As soon as I press send Lin walks in. I close out of the apps and shut it off.

"You ready to stage door Mija?" Lin asks taking his phone. "We're going home straight after."

"Yeah." I say, yawning.

"Mija, do you want to head straight home? If you're tired I understand." He tells me.

"No we can stage door. Don't worry."

Lin's POV

As soon as we walk out the door there is screaming and shouting. I go to sign a playbill, but a Hamilfan shows me a tweet. Jessie is kissing a boy's cheek. I sign the playbill and grab Jessie's hand.

"Mija you're spending the night at Pippa's." I tell her.

"Why?" She asks me in shock.

"I saw the picture of you and that boy. Pippa is waiting for you at her car now. I texted her."

"Dad please. It's not what it-" Jessie starts with tears in her eyes.

"Then what is it Mija?! I told you no dating! You completely disobeyed me! How can I trust you?" I ask her.

"Dad..." Jessie starts crying.

"Don't call me that. You and Pippa can stop by the house and get your stuff. You can stay at Pippa's house for a few days actually. I need a few days. Please."

"If you don't want me to call you dad, then why did you and Vanessa adopt me? You should have never adopted me!" Jessie cries and runs to Pippa who was walking to us.

"Mija..." I start as she and Pippa walk off. "Oh God what do I do?"

I walk back to my car on the verge of tears. I call Vanessa.

"V, I screwed up. Badly." I say.

"What did you do? Was it with Jessie? She's not feeling well." Vanessa says.

"No Vanessa, I told her not to call me dad." I tell her.

"Oh my gosh. Lin, is she with you? Where is my Mija?" Vanessa yells at me through the phone.
