Jessie's POV

I walk into the school and immediately I'm greeted by who I think is the principle. "Hi! I'm Mrs. Lushaw. I'm the principle here. Here's your schedule. And today Mr. Tobias will be taking you to your classes. Except theatre. Have a nice day." She said and then walked off. That was very vague.

"Hi I'm Tobias." A boy with brown hair said with brown eyes. "Let me see your schedule." He said and took my schedule. "Oh sweet we do have the same classes. Except theatre, but I can take there if you want. It's on my way to art." He added with a smile.

"Yeah, I'd like that. Oh! I'm Jessie by the way." I told him with a smile.

"Not to sound creepy, but I already knew that. You're Lin Manuel Miranda's daughter, right?" He asked and I nodded. "I'm not really into theatre, but I would do anything to see Hamilton."

"Oh. I'll ask my dad if you can come to a show. Do you want to?" I asked him.

He smiled and nodded. "Yeah I would. We should drop your stuff off at your locker and we can to go to Mr. Zuyler's English class."

"Ok let's go then." I told him and he wrapped his arm around me. I jumped a bit.

"I think you'll like it here. Sorry about that though. I'll stop." He apologized and took his arm off of me.

"No I don't really... Mind it. You just scared me." I told him and he nodded.

He looked at me. "Can I?" He asked gesturing to his arm and my shoulder.

"Sure?" I said, but it's was mostly a question.

We finally got to my locker. I dropped my stuff off and Tobias waited for me. "Just wondering, you want to go to the movies on Friday? I can ask my friend Keith to bring his girlfriend Abby so your dad will be more okay with it."

"Yeah I'll ask him after the show. I have a question, can I sit with you at lunch? I just don't want to be alone."

"Yeah sure! You can sit with me, Keith, Abby, Ashley, Amber, and Connor. I think you'll fit right in."

I think. Amber! "I know an Amber! What's this Amber's last name?" I ask.

"Knight." Tobias tells me and I start to freak out. "What's wrong?"

"I know her! I used to go to school with her but she switched schools a few weeks ago. This is where she must of gone!"

"That's cool! She's in Mr. Zuyler's English class actually so you'll see her! Oh crap we're going to be late! Let's go." He said grabbing my hand and taking me to class.

We walk in as the bell rings. "Good morning children. Today we have a new student. Jessie Miranda. I hope that you all treat her with respect or it will be a trip to the principle's office." Mr. Zuyler says sternly. "Ms. Miranda, tell us about yourself."

"Oh, um, I was in an orphanage for 7 and a half years of my life..." I stay and my eyes wander the classroom and my eyes land on Amber. She looks at me and waves. "I was adopted by Lin Manuel Miranda and Vanessa Miranda.  I have a little brother named Seb. And I, uh, usually sing The Schuyler Sisters with Reneè Goldsberry, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Leslie Odom Jr and Pippa Soo. That's basically it." I smile awkwardly and the class applauds.

"Any questions for Jessie? Like her life with the cast of Hamilton?" Mr. Zuyler asks and ten hands go up. "Amber."

"So, what's it like to be with Lin? Like to live with him and go to the theatre and watch the show? And performing of course." Amber asks me with a smile.

"Oh! It's really fun honestly. One time he had a Periscope and he scared me trying to get me out of bed. The show part, it actually got really tiring just watching it, so I sit backstage now. And I usually perform but after the show." I answer.

"Ashton." Mr. Zuyler calls a boy in the back of the room.

"So what's it like with the cast?" Ashton asks me and I already know the answer.

"It's absolutely crazy. Daveed beat boxes with Pippa before the show. Lin locks himself in his dressing room. Leslie gets dressed five minutes before the show. Jazzy and Ant lock themselves in Ant's dressing room, Oak, Groff, and Thayne eat chocolate and try to get into everyone's dressing room. So it's crazy." I explain and everyone laughs.

"Anymore questions?" Mr. Zuyler asks and no one raises their hand. "Ok so today's lesson is..."

After English:

"Jessie! I thought I would never see you again! How are you?" Amber attacks me with a bunch of hugs.

"I'm great Amber thank you. How are you?" I ask her.

"Still the crazy fan girl. I have to get to gym. See you at lunch?" She asks and I nod.

Tobias walks over to me. "Time for American History. Let's go." He tells me and we walk to the class.

"Hello students." Mrs. Mals says. "We have a new student, Jessie Miranda. Take your seats. Today we will be learning about Alexander Hamilton." She says and I laugh. "Something you would like to say Jessie?"

"Oh, sorry I didn't mean to laugh. I just find it funny because my dad is in and wrote Hamilton: An American Musical." I explain.

"That is a coincidence, do you know a lot about Alexander?" She asks me and I nod. "Then give us a brief summary of his life."

I stand up and go to the front of the class. "Alexander Hamilton is the man on the ten dollar bill. He was born somewhere in between 1755 and 1757, they don't know his exact birthday. His mom cheated on her his dang with Alexander's father James, had Alexander and she had committed an affair. James left when Hamilton was 10, his mother died when he was 12 and a hurricane destroyed his town when he was 17. He went to America at age 19 because the people of his town believed he should get an education there. In New York he met Aaron Burr, John Laurens, Hercules Mulligan and Lafayette. He became Washington's right hand man. He met his wife at a ball in 1780. He fought in the war until it was over. He had a son named Philip. When his wife, sister in law and rest of his family went upstate he had an affair with Maria Reynolds and took $1000 to pay James Reynolds so James didn't say anything. He write the Reynolds Pamphlet and ruined his life. His son Philip died in a duel and so did Alexander. Philip died in 1801 and Hamilton died in 1804. Before Hamilton ruined his career he was the secretary of treasury. He was also the first secretary of treasury in the US." I explain.

"Very good Ms. Miranda. Now let's get this unit done, shall we?"
