Like a deer caught in headlights, Sasha stared at me with wide brown eyes from across the room. I stood there, waiting for her tell me that that was not what I had heard. That my ears had heard it wrong, but she only stood there with her guilt spitting the truth right in my face.

She shook her head, and started around the table. "Aaliyah, I-"

"The words that are about to come out of your mouth better not be lies," I hissed.

She stopped in her tracks and looked at me. "Aaliyah, I...I...uh..." She stammered. Staring down at the floor she let out a long sigh. "Yes, I wanted to abort you." She finally said in a faint voice.

My head fell to the side, and I crossed my arms over my chest. "You told me that you wanted to put me up for adoption." My voice was flat as I spoke. "Why do you keep lying to me?"

"You told her that?" I heard a thick, husky voice say.

I turned slightly to find a tall man who was about six feet tall standing near her. His hazel eyes were mixed with hurt and anger with eyebrows creasing in the middle of his forehead.
Sasha gave him an apologetic look.

"Who are you?" I asked, in a snappy tone. Then I noticed the opened photo album that laid in the table, with a picture of myself holding Ari when she was just born. I began to grow suspicious. "What the hell is going on here?"

Liana then walked up to me, pulling me into her view. "Ali-"

"What's going on, Liana?" As far as I was concerned, she was the only one worth trusting inside the room.

Liana looked over at Leena with worried eyes. Leena just stared back at her with a blank look on her face. "Ali," she said, as she motioned herself in the direction of the man who was staring at me as if he was starstruck or something. He looked too old to be a fan.

Liana only continued to stare at me with her mouth slightly opened. She didn't know what to say. Or maybe, he didn't know how to say what she needed to say. She acted like he was holding her tongue, and I was growing really impatient.

"Can somebody please tell me what the hell is going on!" I hissed through my teeth.

Liana loosened her grip and sighed. "I can't do it," she whispered. Then she walked out of the room.

"This is for you to tell," Leena said, her voice was bitter as she spoke to Sasha. "Not us." Then she left the room as well.

They left me there alone with just the two of them. The woman I was mad at and some stranger I didn't even know. I eyed the opened photo album again trying to put the pieces together myself, but nothing connected. Nothing was coming together for me. I didn't know what to think.

"Aaliyah..." I heard his voice said again.

I looked up at him to see him walking towards me. His hands in his suit pockets. His face looked wet and oily as if he had been crying or sweating. I couldn't decide which on that was. And his curly hair was tousled at the top his head. Shining brightly in the room light as if he had sprayed oil sheen on it to make it shiniest as possible.

It reminded me of Ari's.

"Who are you?" I asked him again.

He lowered his head so that his hazel eyes met mine. They matched mine. His iris's were the same color as my deep brown, hazel ones.

My eyebrows creased as everything was beginning to become clear to me. I glanced over at the album, then back at his wet eyes.

"I'm your-"
