Laney's POV

"In an update on the tragic accident that left Promise member, Jolene Spears, dead; and Promise's lead singer Aaliyah Haughton in a coma." I looked up at the screen that hung high from the ceiling in the hospital waiting room. "Police suspect that the cause of the tragic accident may have something to do with drug use. Which the group is known for dabbling in. However, Jolene--better known as Jojo--has been suspected to have a drug problem from as early as last year. And many people believe that that is the reason why she fired from the group."

It was a CNN news report that was following up on everything that was going on

It was a CNN news report that was following up on everything that was going on. For a second, I was confused. The television was never turned on because of the simple fact that neither one of us wanted to hear a false news story. But, I remembered that Savannah was supposed to be making a statement and Sasha had turned it on because she wanted to hear it.

"Others also suspect it had something to do with the incident at this year past Grammy awards where she publicly humiliated Aaliyah claiming that she was a 'backstabbing bitch' and accusing her of starting a solo career." The lady's screen then minimized as videos of Liyah at the Grammys starting coming up. It was weird. Seeing her go up on the stage time after time again, accepting awards for an album that was only a soundtrack and comparing that to the image of her lying down in the hospital bed down the hall. "According to the many witnesses, that night who saw the confrontation between the band members--those accusations were allegedly false."

"Coming in with us, via satellite from Los Angeles, we have Promise's manager, Savannah Day," I looked back up the screen after zoning out to see her face next to the host

"Coming in with us, via satellite from Los Angeles, we have Promise's manager, Savannah Day," I looked back up the screen after zoning out to see her face next to the host. "Hello, Miss Day," she said to her while bringing her blue eyes to the camera. I leaned back in the chair and gave the television my full attention. "So, what was the real reason why Jojo was fired from the group."
