You know when you're younger and Your best friend is everything? The feeling of having to do something without them breaks your naïve little heart, and you have to forced from their house kicking and screaming after a play date?

Imagine feeling like that every time your eyes scan over their name on your phone.

Imagine every time your boyfriend sneaks you a kiss, your heart flutters of course, but at the back of your mind you almost feel like you're leaving your entire childhood behind.

Now imagine wanting things to work with said boyfriend more than you've ever wanted anything, but in close second place, you want to work things out with his ex, aka your best friend.

"Calum, can you pass me the salt please?" Lauren asks at dinner, her eyes scanning over me before landing on him.

Me and him are sitting beside each other, and so far, he's managed to eat with only one hand as his other one is rested on my knee, under the table away from everyone's eyes. Now though, he has to move this hand to pass my younger sister the salt. I shoot her a cold look and grab Calum's hand the second its under the table again, placing it on my knee, like the clingy little bìtch I am.

His head turns to face me, eyebrows raised and smirking in an extremely hot manner. His face is the perfect way to say "Really?" to someone you care about. I shrug and giggle, to which he chuckles and shakes his head, the short curls of dark hair falling onto his forehead.

"Zoe was hurt last night." Harry suddenly says, and everyone turns to face him.

"What?" Calum and Ashton say at the same time, Calum more out of confusion as he was with me.

"Yeah, I could hear her in her room. Whining like this-" Harry continues to imitate one of my moans. The heat rushes to my face faster than you could say 'embarrassed'.

After an afternoon in the pool, me and Calum somehow ended up against my bedroom wall making out.

"I think she dropped something, I heard this big thud." That will have been Calum pushing my body into the wall passionately, which at the time was great, but somehow has turned into my main cause of embarrassment.

Luke and Mikey smirk at each other knowingly, but Ashton looks at me with raised eyebrows. Suddenly, it doesn't seem like such a great idea to be sitting this close to Calum.

Almost like he can read my mind, Cal removes his hand from my leg and places it on the table beside his glass of water.

"Zoe?" Ash asks, his voice sounding stern unlike normal.

"Ashton relax. She's 19, and allowed to bring dates home." Mum sighs, clearing away Ash and Luke's empty plates. I face my mum in surprise, a) because she got my age wrong, I'm 18, and b) because it's so unlike her to say. Passing her my empty dish, I give her a thankful smile.  "I mean, I don't necessarily want to hear about it, but you shouldn't get a hard time about it."

"Maybe she was alone." Calum teases, and now it's time to turn to face him. I gently shove him backwards and he almost falls off his seat, cackling like its the funniest thing all year.

"Oh shut up, just because your jealous of the guy I had round last night." I tease, and it feels so funny and alien to talk to him like this again. It's like taking a step back in time.

Calum's eyes meet mine for a second and we stay quiet, I know that he's thinking the same thing.

"So, who was it?" Luke asks, smiling to himself.
