Trigger warning: This imagine deals with an attempt to suicide and suicidal thoughts. If you're easily triggered by that, we advise to skip this imagine.
So this was how you'd die... You looked down the window, overseeing the city you had grown to tolerate over the past few months. The city you had grown to love, because of that one person that was living there who had become your entire universe. A person who didn't even know you were here right now.
So this was how you'd die. The goblet of wine in your shaking hands. The goblet you put aside when you stepped down from the window, heading towards your bed. The bed that would become your last resting place. It couldn't last. The pain of not being loved, the torment of watching him live his life without you.
How could you live? There was nothing left of the life you were looking for. Nothing left of the love you were longing for. He didn't love you. Yes, as a sister, as a friend. But he would never look at you like you were his entire universe. Like Tommen was yours.
So this is how you'd die. A few drops of poison, and that would be it. That would be enough to still your shaking hands, to mend your broken heart. To end your life, to end the love that never was, the love you didn't deserve.
But then why were you shaking? Why were you doubting? You had told yourself over and over again that death would be preferable over the life you were living. And there was nothing left for you to live. You had looked everywhere, tried everything, but this was it. You'd rather die than live the empty shell that this life was.
You almost missed the running footsteps when you lied down on your bed, the small vial of poison in your hand. You almost missed the creaking door, you barely saw the hand that took the means of your death from you.
"Y/N!", a panicked voice screamed. "Please tell me you didn't do it! Please tell me you didn't drink it yet! Please tell me you're not dying!"
You looked up, into the eyes you thought never to see again, and you panicked. Had you been wrong? Had the solution to your happiness been with you the entire time?
"Tommen? What are you doing here? Don't you have a kingdom to rule?"
He shook his head, closing his hands around yours.
"What do I care about a kingdom if I don't have you by my side?" He was panicking just as much as you were, looking at the bottle in his hand that was still sealed. He ran his finger over the seal.
"Does this mean that you're..."
You clenched his hand in yours. You weren't ready to die. You were ready to live.
"I didn't. I wanted to. I couldn't live without you, Tommen, but with you..."
"You will have me, Y/N..." He took a deep sigh and sat down on the edge of your bed.
"Don't do anything like that again, please... promise me!"
You smiled again and shook your head. "You are everything I ever wanted, Tommen. If I have you, I have no reason to die."
It was as if you had lived in a nightmare until now. A nightmare that was slowly fading away. And you were ready. Ready to wake up. Ready to live!
