"It's nice to meet you, King in the North." Daenerys bent her head slightly and she smiled while she looked up at the handsome stranger in front of her. "I would like to introduce you to my sister, (Y/N) Targaryen."
You stepped forward and you were holding your breath while doing so. You had heard a lot of stories about the King in the North. You had heard stories about his fighting skills and his strategic insight. Not one story had prepared you for his wonderful blue eyes and his kind smile though.
"Welcome to Winterfell, Daenerys and (Y/N) Targaryen." Although he spoke to you and your sister, he kept on staring straight into your eyes. "We hope that you will enjoy your stay and that we can discuss all the important political matters." Robb smiled a little brighter and you saw how Daenerys turned her face towards you while a slight smile was spreading across her face.
"Thank you for this warm welcome. My sister here would love to see the famous Godswood we've been hearing about. Would you be so kind to show her the spot while I'll take care of my men?" She nodded encouraging when you widened your eyes and shook your head.
"Of course, I can do that. It will be my pleasure." Robb offered you his arm and while your cheeks started glowing, you allowed your bare skin to touch him. "It is a little walk, but I hope you don't mind that?" He cocked his head a little and you bit your lip.
Of course you didn't mind. You had never felt like this before and the longer it would last the better it would be.
"I hope you had a pleasant journey here?" Robb lead you through the gate and the white snow almost blinded your eyes.
"I'm certain there are things more pleasant than traveling this long, but it was as comfortable as it could be." You bent your head and you watched your boots leaving footprints behind you. A shiver rolled down your spine and you tried to hide your clappering teeth.
"I am sorry about the cold that's awaiting you, my lady." Robb stood still and he unlinked your arms. Gently he took off his cloak and draped it around your shoulders. "I have to admit however that you look good in my warm clothing." He smiled again and despite the cold you felt your entire body heating up.
Of course you had heard about this feeling before. You had heard friends talking about their hearts skipping beats in their chest. You had heard them talking about feeling warm and cold at the same time. You had heard them tripping over their own words and you had seen their cheeks blushing. "I hope I'll get used to it." You managed to answer eventually.
"I hope so too." Robb nodded again and he offered you his arm once more so the two of you could continue the small walk towards the Godswood. "I have never been far enough in the south to know how much of a change this must be for you."
You smiled and you tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. Even though it was a big change, you didn't mind. Not anymore. "Well, I can say that the men are not half as charming and handsome as you are." You bit your lip and avoided his glance.
"And I can say that the women in the North are not half as lovely as you are." Robb placed his hand on yours. "Do you know if your sister has already arranged your future marriage?" He cocked his head and you felt your heart skipping a few beats in your chest.
"I don't know. We have never talked about that before." You took a few deep breaths and you shrugged your shoulders, almost causing his cloak to slide off.
"Maybe I should have that talk with her then." Robb winked and he caught his on cloak to gently drape it back again.
