"Don't be nervous. You'll be doing fine." Scott squeezed your hands and you nodded.

Your entire body was trembling and you stared at the moon, that was almost full. Tonight would be your first time turning into a werewolf and you had heard all the horror stories about it. You had heard how Derek had tied his beta's to an old school bus. You had heard how even Scott had had trouble controlling his anger.

"Just keep breathing, okay?" Scott nodded and you nodded back at him. It was an easy thing to say for him. Scott had never hurt or killed someone. Scott was a true Alpha. Scott had been stronger and better than anyone else.

But you weren't Scott and you were afraid that tonight everything would go wrong. "How long until I'll feel it?" You swallowed and you stared at the moon again.

"Only a couple more minutes." Scott licked his lips. Even though he kept on telling you that everything would be alright and that you had nothing to worry about, he did seem to be a little nervous too.

"What will I feel when the moon is finally full?" Your voice was trembling and you knew your attempt to sound calm was failing hopelessly.

Scott took a deep breath and he shook his head. "It's hard to describe, but..." He cocked his head a little and he tightened his grip on your hands. "It will be like some invisible beast is trying to break out. Something in you will start fighting and it will be hard to control it."

You nodded and you closed your eyes. You tried to imagine what it would be like, what it would feel like. You tried to imagine the feeling in your chest, in your muscles. Until all of a sudden you didn't have to imagine it anymore.

It was as if something woke up inside of you. It was as if all your muscles started to tense at once. Your heart started to race in your chest, adrenaline was filling your veins.

"How do I fight it?" You screamed and you felt the pain in your jaws when your teeth tried to break out. You moaned when your fingers started itching because your nails were trying to grow. You panicked when all of a sudden hair was growing in places where it was not supposed to be.

"Focus on something that keeps you human." Scott kept on holding you and you swallowed. "I always thought of Allison. How I didn't want to hurt her. How I didn't want to be a monster. How I wanted her to love me." Scott softened his voice.

But it was easier said than done to focus on something that would keep you human. The only thing you could think of was wanting to show Scott that his faith in you had been justified. You didn't want to disappoint him, even though he would probably say that it had not been your fault. You didn't want him to see you as a monster, even though you knew he would probably blame himself for turning you into one.

"It's working." Scott smiled when you opened your eyes and you realized that he was right.

Your jaw didn't hurt anymore, you fingers didn't itch anymore, the hair on your skin had disappeared again.

"What were you thinking of?" Scott moved a little closer towards you and he placed the palm of his hand on your cheek.

"You, I was thinking of you." You smiled and you pressed your forehead to his. "I hope you're okay with being my anchor."

"Don't worry." Scott shook his head and his nose brushed yours. "It sounds perfect to me."
