"So, you guys are just...friends? That's all?" Ginny stared at Hermione for a long time while Hermione explained.
"Yeah, why not? He apologized. I don't quite forgive him but he says he wants to make it up to me."
Ginny shook her head in amazement.
"I still can't believe you guys are just friends," she snapped her fingers, "just like that."
"Gin, he's a good guy, really. He's just being suffocated by his parents at the moment."
Ginny still didn't understand.
"Mione. There's a guy that likes you and you still have feelings for him, I'm sure. So date him already! If the guy I liked had feelings for me, I'd take it and run! You don't understand what you have."
Hermione felt pity for Ginny. She knew about Ginny's feelings for Harry. But Harry didn't feel the same. He liked Cho Chang, a Ravenclaw 5th year. Hermione honestly felt bad for Ginny. But she did have to correct her.
"I'm sorry to destroy your 'Draco plus Hermione' love story, but I don't have feelings for him anymore. I think of him as just a friend. But you should go for him. You know how jealous Harry gets. Especially if it were Draco. I could ask him to play along for you."
Ginny stuck her tongue out and make gagging noises.
"Never in a million years, Mione."
"Okay... Just think about it. Draco is a very good actor."
Ginny repeated her fake gagging noises and stared at Hermione.
"I may be desperate, but I'm not that desperate."
"Whatever."
"So now that you've gathered your senses, can we talk about Viktor Krum and how he totally likes you?"
It was now Hermione's turn to gag.
"What's wrong with you! Everyone is wishing to be in your shoes! There are three guys here that like you! I don't even have one!"
"Three?!"
Ginny's eyes widened as she realized her mistake.
"Did I say three? I meant two. Viktor and Ro- Draco."
Hermione scowled at Ginny for keeping secrets from her.
"Ron likes me?"
Ginny panicked and shook her head too quickly.
"I didn't say that. Who told you that? Well, I have to go. I have to go see if Harry needs any help with... anything. Homework."
"You're a year below us, Gin."
"I-I meant, I have to go... visit Myrtle with Luna. You know how Luna gets. I'll, um, see you later."
With that, Ginny left hastily out of her dorm, leaving Hermione alone in the room.
"I was hoping Ron liked me," she whispered to herself.
