"What the bloody hell is wrong with you, mate? You were almost expelled!" Hermione hated to say it, but she agreed with what Ron had just said.
"It was rather thoughtless of you, Harry."
"Dementors had attacked me and Dudley! What would have happened if I had dragged Dudley home dead? Vernon and Petunia would have had me killed!"
"You shouldn't have been alone!" Hermione tried to think of ways that Harry could have avoided performing magic but she couldn't come up with a single alternative. Fred noticed Hermione's thoughtful expression and traced circles on her hand with the pad of his thumb. He brought his soft lips to her temple and pecked a small kiss.
"Hey," he whispered, "you're ok. Stop overthinking it." She smiled at his kind and soft words.
"I love you, Fred."
Hermione pecked his lips with hers.
"I love you, Hermione."
"Could you two get a room?" Hermione suddenly realized where she was and felt her cheeks get hot.
"Sorry Gin. Harry, Ron, George. Sorry about that."
"I'm happy you found someone, 'Mione, but did it have to be my brother?" Ginny was obviously holding back a gag.
"You know, Ginny. A little birds told me that a certain blond Slytherin had a thing for you."
Ginny really did gag now. Hermione had been trying to convince Ginny to date Draco to make Harry jealous, but she hasn't agreed. Yet.
"You and Draco? Absolutely not Ginny. I hated it enough when it was Hermione. But my own sister? Nuh uh," Ron was shaking his head.
"Ronald, shut up. Ginny can date whoever she pleases."
"Seriously mate, you gotta stop being overprotective at some point."
Ginny's face fell when Harry had spoken up. 'He's okay with this?"
"'Mione? Can I speak with you? Privately?"
"Sure Ginny."
She squeezed Fred's hand once and stood up to follow Ginny out of the room.
"What's up, Gin?"
"I want to go through with your plan. What's the worst thing that could happen? It's not like I'm going to fall for him."
"Ok. I'll owl him tonight. I'll tell him to play along."
"Thanks for helping me, Hermione."
"Of course."
That night, Draco replied almost immediately.
Anything for you, Granger. I am a brilliant actor.
~D.M.
She showed Ginny the note and she smirked.
"He so still likes you."
"No he doesn't."
"Yes, he does."
"Well you better get rid of that thought because you two are gonna be dating by Halloween."
"I'm going to regret this, aren't I?"
"Probably."
They laughed and went to bed in their room at Grimmauld place, expecting an eventful day tomorrow.
