"Wait here for me, ok?"
Draco rolled his eyes as he sat on the stairs to the astronomy tower. Hermione began to climb them and felt a twinge of fear build in her chest. Maybe Ron was right. Could it be a trap? She gripped her wand tighter and took the final steps to the tower's high floor. She looked around and saw a figure in the shadows near the large, floor length window.
"Hello?" Hermione's sweet voice filled the boy's ears.
"Hi there, Hermione. How are you?"
"Who are you?" Hermione neared the boy but he refused to show his face.
"You can't tell by my voice? Now that's just cold. We've known each other for years!"
Hermione searched her mind for the owner of the voice, but couldn't place his face. She could hardly make out shoulder length locks and an amused smirk.
"Please, why did you want to talk to me?"
The boy's smirk only widened.
"You're a smart girl. I said I wanted to tell you how I felt."
"I still don't know who you are, though. How do I know you aren't one of his followers?"
The boy scoffed at the accusation.
"Never in a million years. The man attacked one of my best mate's family!"
Hermione's eyebrows knitted together.
"Show your face to me, please?"
His smirk was nearing a grin now. It the moonlight, it complimented his juvenile features and immature stance.
"Not until I tell you how I feel, Hermione."
Hermione was silent. He took this as a prompt to continue.
"I've had feelings for you since the moment the Hat spoke your name and then announced that you would be put into my house. I've noticed your intelligence since you made polyjuice potion in second year. I've taken interest in your bravery since you helped save Sirius and Buckbeak last year. And how could I not take into account your infamous fist-to-face contact with Malfoy last year? And when you entered the Great Hall this year for the Yule ball, I was silent. The wind was knocked from my chest. That was when I knew that I was utterly, deeply, madly in love with you, Hermione Granger. And I know that I always will."
He stepped from the shadows and watched Hermione's eyes widen in surprise.
"I- I don't know what to say. I-"
She was cut off with his lips. It wasn't her first kiss, but it felt like it. Her hands wrapped around his neck. She fiddles with his long hair and pressed her chest against his. When he pulled away, he spoke with long breaths between his words.
"You have... no idea... how long I've... wanted to do that," he spoke. She could only nod, she didn't have enough breath to speak.
"I love you, Hermione Granger."
He awaited her reply.

Don't kill me for the cliffy! I'm so sorry! I hardly ever get the chance to do one. I wanted to do one so here it is! Sorry. Who is the boy with shoulder length locks and a juvenile smirk? You'll find out soon! Love you all!
