The Yule Ball was tonight. Girls were rushing around with makeup and hair brushes in their hands and curlers in their hair. Ginny and Hermione were in their dorm, deciding on how to do Ginny's hair. She was going on and on about her date, but didn't share his name.
"I want it to be a surprise." She kept saying. Ginny was finally ready and looked at the time. "Oh Merlin! We only have an hour to do your hair and makeup! I'm sorry 'Mione!" Hermione smirked and spoke wing sincerity.
"I'm ok, Gin. You go meet your date. I can get ready on my own."
"Ok, Mione. I'm sort again. Have fun with Viktor!"
Hermione sighed at the mention of her date. Viktor Krum had asked her last week. She had only replied yes because she didn't think that her crush would ask her. He did, by the way. But only as a last resort. And Hermione was pissed about it.
"Hermione, you're a girl." Ronald had turned to her in study hall. She glanced at Harry and saw a look of fear in his eyes.
"Keen observation, Ronald."
"Well, come with one of us. It's one thing for a guy to show up alone, but for a girl it's just sad."
Hermione was furious with him now. Not only for asking her so late, but for thinking that she didn't have a date.
"I won't be going alone because, believe it or not, someone's asked me!" She angrily turned in her homework to Snape, "and I said yes!" She left the room with fire in her blood.
As Hermione finally perfected her messy hair bun, she grinned. It had turned out as she wanted it. Two pieces were pulled out of the hairdo to frame her face. Her makeup was simple yet elegant. A peachy pink tinted her lips and a light pink colored her cheeks. Her dress was a beautiful periwinkle-blue that complimented her coffee bean eyes. Her heels were the same color. 10 minutes before the ball was set to start, she deemed herself ready.
Hermione floated down the staircase with a twinkle in her eye and a smirk on her lips. When everyone looked up to her in amazement and envy, she felt wonderful. This ball gave her the opportunity to leave her bookworm personality in her room and pretend to be a princess for at least one night. And nobody was going to ruin that.
Hermione looked down at Ronald and smirked more. His jaw was practically touching the floor. He looked miserable win his date. He and Harry had taken the Patil twins. Harry had Padma and Ron had Pavarti- or was it the other way around? Hermione didn't care. She felt graceful and like royalty as Viktor took her hand to walk her in. If Ron's jaw could have dropped any lower, it would have. Little did Hermione know that a certain blond Slytherin stood in awe across the corridor. He and Ronald could have been twins at that moment. Yes, Draco was in love with Hermione. And Ron was, too.

Quick A/N: This chapter has lines from the movie but the dress is as described in the book. I will be posting less and less frequently *covers face to protect from flying chair* because I am in the color guard for my Marching Band! Also, school will be starting soon so that will hinder my writing too. I am so sorry if I leave you guys on a fluffy in the future. Please don't hate me!
Love you all!
