"I'm not an owl!"
Hermione stomped away in anger with Ginny after relaying a ridiculous message to Harry that Ron had her make up so that Ron didn't have to talk to Harry. They've been fighting. Ever since Harry was chosen for the TriWizard Torniment, a competition for 7th years only.
She entered the main corridor and was pulled aside my a sting hand. Ginny followed as Draco pulled me into an empty classroom.
"What?" She said as she rubbed her sore wrist.
"Sorry about that." he turned to Ginny, "Could you give us a minute, Weaslette?"
Ginny glared at him and left the room.
"Weaslette? Why did you call her that?"
"Because she is a Weasel. And she is a female. Weasl-ette. Get it?"
"I understood it, but I don't understand why you didn't just call her by her name."
Draco scrunched his face in thought.
"Her name is Ginny, arse. What do you want?"
"Hey! I thought we were friends. And I pulled you aside because you looked pissed. What did Pothead and Weasel do now?"
Hermione clenched her teeth at him and stared into his soul. If looks could kill, Narsissa and Lucius would be planning a funeral for Draco right now.
"Harry and Ron are fighting. And they've been using me as communication. They aren't speaking directly to each other. Only through me. And it's tiring."
Draco pulled her into a his arms and held her to his chest, rubbing her back gently.
"I'm sorry that they are being such arses."
Hermione smiled and held him tighter.
"Thank you for being such a great friend. I needed a hug."
Draco's smile faltered slightly but he quickly replaced it with a fake smirk.
"You're welcome, Gra- Hermione. Damn. I will never get used to that."
"Neither will I, Ma- Draco."
She giggled a little and felt him chuckle. She was glad that he was there for her, even if they weren't together.
"Hey, Draco?" Hermione lifted her head to see Draco's silver eyes.
"Hmm?"
"You know I forgive you, right?"
"Thank you. What did I do to deserve you?"
"Nothing. You don't!" She smirked and giggled. "You've rubbed off on me! I'm sarcastic and snide!"
"That's what I'm here for, Granger!"
They left the room laughing and smiling.
"I'm glad we're friends."
"Me too, Hermione."
