Part 24: Jesse's POV

IT IS THE DAY SHE LEAVES NOW
The police came to our cell, as he was unlocking the door he said "Jasiah Winston you are ready to go" I stood up, gave Andrew the biggest smile and hugged him "thank you so much" and I kissed his cheek, in a friendly way. "Anything for someone in my old gang." He said, and I went by the police, he opened the door and I stepped out. He led me to the exit and I followed, while thinking about how to find Ponyboy. I had an idea, Pony loves books, I found Trent at the bookstore, Ponyboy could find me while buying a book too. I'll work there. I didn't know exactly how to get to Pony's house so I'll go to his second most visited place and work there. I went into the doors of the bookstore and Saw a worker I walked up to him "hello, my name is Jasiah Winston, I'd like to start working here." He had a big smile "great, because I'm the manager, we're thinking about firing someone but we can't risk having a shortage of workers,even for a short time." He said and shook my hand. He led me to the back and gave me a tour of the back, showed me how to restock books if they run out on the shelves,and where everything goes and the rules and stuff. "Great, just tell me when you'd like your shifts to be and well hire you." He said and gave me a clipboard so I could fill in my shifts. It was surprisingly easy to get this job, whoever he wanted to fire, he wanted to do it fast. I filled it quickly and looked around, he went to the back room, but not too far so I could see him. He walked up to Trent and started talking. He was firing Trent. He walked out the door, but I hid so he won't see that I'm out of jail.the manager came back, his name was Matthew. He took the clipboard and gave me a pin that said Jasiah on it, nice, my pin was already ready. "Thank you Jasiah, we'll see you on..." Then he looked at the clipboard to check when my fist day was and started to talk again "oh, tomorrow, great! Thank you!" He said and I walked out. My first day was going to be great, I could feel it, because there will be a big sale and I just might see Ponyboy.
