Did he just asked if he KOWS me? How could he have forgotten me so quickly. It was like Johnny just stabbed me with a switchblade next to a fountain at the park (haha sorry for the Bob reference I just had to) "y-yes, of course you know me, how could have you forgotten me so fast, Ponyboy" tears started gathering in my eyes, but it tried my best not to make it obvious. "I- I'm s- so sorry, but if I know you, then my memory of you must've gone right now, I hit my head on the shelf, I don't remember anything after the morning of Johnny, and Dally's funeral. Oh , no, he forgot everything starting from the day right before we met. It was the end of my shift anyway, so I checked out Ponyboy's book and left with him. "Ponyboy, we met the day after their funeral. Remember? I was about to get jumped and you saved me from the socs. We became friends and then we fell in love. I'm Jasiah, but I told you to call me Jesse. Remember?" I felt so stupid. Did I just ask him if he REMEMBERS? Of course he doesn't remember. "I told you how I'm Dally's sister, and I killed my father." It was hard to tell him that part, but he already technically knows right? He looked at me desperately "I'm sorry Jesse" he said. I gave up my effort to hold in my tears and I let it out, but I kept talking while I was crying "remember that Trent tried to take me from you but we became a couple, he got mad and took me to jail?" He just looked down. I stopped walking. I needed a hug. "I know you don't know me, but can I have a hug" I asked, I needed him to hold me in his arms. He hugged me and I told him "I love you so much, I don't want to lose you too." But he didn't answer. We were almost to Ponyboy's house. When we got there we both walked in, I don't know if he was fine with it, since I'm a stranger to him, but I did anyway. It was a Saturday so Darry and Soda were home. They saw me crying and came up to us. "Jesse you're back!!" They both said. Then soda looked at me "but what's wrong" I told them the story about how I worked at the bookstore hoping to find Pony there and when I did he had a memory loss and he couldn't remember anything after the morning of the funeral and how he forgot about me and everything. Darry stood up "maybe the hospital could help" he said, grabbing his keys.
