Part 8: Ponyboy's POV

I opened my eyes and saw that Jesse wasn't there. I got out of bed, worried that something might have happened to her, but when I went to the kitchen she was just making breakfast with Sodapop. "Hey guys, watcha doin" I said, even though I saw what they were doing. "Hi pony, we're making waffles, they're purple. Here, try this." Jesse said and she handed me a small price of a purple waffle. I tried it and it tasted amazing. I loved it. I hugged her from her torso and pulled her close to me. "They're wonderful, they taste amazing." I said. "You're voice is so sexy when you're tired" she said and I kissed her cheek, we've only really kissed once before and it was only a peck, so I didn't know if she was too comfortable with me yet. Soda soon interrupted "I'm still here guys, you can do that when you're alone. We both turned toward him. "Oh, yeah, good morning soda." "Good morning'' he said, barely looking at me. "We'll call Two-Bit and Darry together." Jesse said and soda just smirked. Jesse and I walked to my room. We sat on my bed to talk. "So how is everything " I asked, trying to start a conversation. "Great" she said. Why was she so beautiful, she makes me smile so much. I scooted closer to her and held.  Her by the waist. "I love you, ya know that?" I whispered "I love you more." She whispered back. Her face was in my hands and I was leaning closer to kiss her but then Sodapop yelled from the other side of the house. "I THOUGHT YOU GUYS WERE CALLING TWO BIT AND DARRY." Jesse and I left my room. "We tried calling them but they won't wake up." She said, saving us. Then I went to Darry's room and Jesse went to the living room so we can wake them up. Darry got up quickly so then I went to help Jesse try and get Two-bit out. He wouldn't so we just ate without him. When we finished, Jesse and I got up and offered to wash the dishes together. They were only a few plates and utensils anyway. She did the forks and knives and I did the plates. We had only a few more things left to wash when Jesse splashed me with water. "HEY!" I said playfully and I splashed her back. She took the soapy sponge and threw it at me, making me all soap and water. "Oh you wanna go there?" I said and I put more soap on the sponge and threw it at her. In just a few minutes we were covered in bubbled. I held her from the waist and pulled her close. She held me back and I kissed her lips. Darry came in at that moment. "Hey guys we were going to the mov- oh uh" we quickly pulled away right when we heard him. "Oh uh, hi Darry." Jesse said. "Um hi, uh were gonna go to the movies later today, can you guys clean the kitchen while soda and I are at work?" "Sure!" Jesse said before I could speak. We cleaned all the bubbles and then went to my room.
