Part 29: Ponyboy's POV

I wasn't about to lose her from my memory AND my life, I'm going to fight back this time. I always carried Johnny's switchblade around, I never thought I'd use it, I just kept it around in memory of him so it could be like he's always around. I took his switchblade from my pocket at quickly ran and cut his leg, he was screaming so much. I was about to go for another cut but he dropped Jesse and threw his switchblade towards me it was going to go straight into my arm. This was going to be painful. With my instincts I ducked and it just cut my elbow and passed, not too badly though. Just a small cut. He ran away before I could get him back, he was limping though. I wouldn't blame him, he has a really deep cut in his leg. I ran to Jesse. "Are you okay? Any cuts or anything, she lifted her head and there was a small cut from where the switchblade was held, it wasn't deep or anything, but there was some blood. It looked easy to fix up, we just had to clean the cut and stuff. We got home quickly since we were already very close when we were attacked. "Hey guys, had fun?" Sodapop asked when he heard us walked in. "Not even close to fun" Jesse said, but she was still smiling. Soda walked to the living room from the kitchen. "Why?" "We got jumped"I told him. He just nodded his head. Darry was at work for an extra hour so he wasn't going to come until later. We heard a knock on the door, Soda opened it as I helped Jesse with her cut and she helped me with mine. We weren't paying attention to the door. "Ponyboy someone wants to talk to you" Soda said. "Coming" I called back. "Stay here I'll be back" I told Jesse. I walk to the door and see the man of our nightmare. VOLDEMORT. jk jk it's just Trent. "What do you want now Trent" I said, he had wrapped his leg where I cut him. "I want to apologize" He said. soda was about to leave the door "don't leave me here alone" I told him and he just stood behind me. "Im not going to do anything to you, I'm here to say that I'm over Jesse and I won't bother you guys anymore. Truce?" He said holding his hand out for me to shake. I don't remember exactly what this guy has done to us, even though Jesse has told me, I don't know if I should trust him yet. I didn't shake his hand. "I'll think about it" I said closing the door.
