Everybody Wants Lucy {Ch.9}

Lucy's POV

We talked, laughed and ate for what felt like for ever. The food tasted like nothing I had ever eaten before. Each bite felt like there were feelings attached to it pleasure, joy and happiness talk about comfort food.

"My goodness girl do they ever feed you in this human world" my grandfather said and laughed. It made my chest tighten he sounded so much like dad. I could tell by the looks on their faces they could feel my sadness. I couldn't say anything luckily Dietrich saved me (I could get use to him).

"That's the dragon in her sir, you know we have the best food in all the realms" he said and laughed.

We all laughed with him and my grandfather shook his head in agreement. I told them everything about the mermaids, stepwitch, Rebeca and the two strange boys at school. Who I now could feel were angels. I don't know how I know this but I do. One was a dark angel and one was a light. But I didn't trust them, at this point I didn't trust anybody except the three people in this room. I didn't quite understand why it felt so natural and safe with them but I decided to trust my instincts and told them.

"How can I just know what they are when I didn't before" I asked?

"Lucy, a dragon and a mermaid start to get their powers young but they achieve full power by the age of 16. It usually happens slowly. But you didn't know who you really were now that you do. I think its opened a door and your powers are getting strong fast. And now that you're here in the dragon realm surrounded by magic its happening all at once. I fear it might be to much for y...) grandfather was saying but my panic took over and I cut him off.

"No don't send me away please please. it's the first time I felt safe in long time please. I don't know who to trust, I only know I can trust you guys please don't make me leave" I said and I could feel the tears running down my face. My grandmother was at my side in seconds. Holding me and rocking me gently telling me everything would be ok.

"Oh my sweet child, I would never send you away. We have waited so long to see you again. I just meant you need to tell us. If it feels like to much, we can help you thru it" my grandfather said. And I started to calm down. Then there was a knock on the door and a guy came in.

"Your majesties"

"What is it" my grandfather asked?

"Your son is here" he said with a look of shock on his face. And some how I knew he meant my father.

"I don't want to see him" I said in anger. They all looked at me a little surprised by my tone.

"Tony show my son to the library. Tell him I'll be there in a moment" grandfather said. The guy nodded and left.

"Lucy he's your father and what ever he has or hasn't done he loves you. Like only a father could" grandfather said.

"He has lied to me my whole life. He allowed her to hit me. Its to much I can't deal with him on top of everything else" I said.

"Than you don't have to. Derik will you please take Lucy out and show her the grounds" grandmother said. Then grandfather and I said at the same time

"he doesn't like to be called that". Grandmother raised her eyebrows at us. We looked at each other and laughed. Dietrich and I went outside we walked thru some bushes to the most beautiful garden I have ever seen so many colors I couldn't take them all in. But I drawn to these flowers that looked to be a cross between a rose and a tulip. They were a bright yellow with specks of red and green running thru them. They were stunning I leaned in to smell them and jumped back when a tiny head popped out of the flower. Amazed I couldn't take my eyes off of it. The creature seemed to be looking at me the same way. I put my hand out slowly next to it. The little guy climbed on my hand. It was the size of a bug. But looked like a little tiny human with wings (that looked transparent) and a tail.
