Everybody Wants Lucy {Ch.19}
Lucinda's POV
(Mermaid Queen)
"Alexander how could you do that" I roared when I stormed into the room I shared with my husband.
"She's his daughter. She is not our Jasmine and he wants her home" Alexander said.
"Since when do you care what he wants" I said.
"Since if our daughter had stayed home where I could have protected her she would be alive" he said.
"It was not your fault sweetheart" I said and rubbed his back.
"Then who's was it. I was her father and I should have protected her" he said.
These conversations never got any easier. We both missed her as much today as we did the day we lost her. It just seemed so wrong to out live your child. But none of this was Lucy's fault. And it wasn't fair she had to pay the price again for the choices of others.
"Alexander Jasmine made her own choices. Doesn't Lucy have the same right" I said.
"Not if there going to get her killed" he yelled.
"Don't raise your voice to me mister" I said and pointed my finger at him.
"I'm sorry my love. But its not good for her to be friends with that Arken kid. He's dangerous and you know it" he said I laughed.
"What's so funny" Alexander asked?
"Your sending her away to keep her away from a boy. You know if she wants to see him she will find away. And he's not that bad just young" I said.
"He's a sharknoid, and I don't understand why we have to have dinner with them. Isn't it enough that we stopped fighting" he said.
"No it isn't, that's not real peace. You two kings could take a lesson from Lucy. You need to set an example. Or our people are never going to get past these petty predigests. And I for one don't want you to pass them onto our children" I said.
"I can't help how I feel" he said.
"Maybe not but you can keep it to yourself. Now please where the blue jacket it brings out your eyes. And Lucy stays if that is what she chooses" I said.
"Well how about she go home talk to her father. Then when he say's its ok she can come back" he said. I knew this was the best compromise I would get so I shook my head in agreement.
Arken's POV
I heard the door and jumped downstairs skipping them 3 at a time. "Mom there here" I yelled. I didn't want to seem so eager but I couldn't help it. Lucy was like a drug I couldn't get enough of her.
"Calm down honey and let them in" mom said. I opened the door and bowed.
"Come in your majesties" I said.
They walked in with a bunch of kids. I only recognized four of them. Brady, Arena, Shea and Lucy they were all around my age the rest were younger. Shea was one of Arena's sisters.
"Alexander Lucinda how lovely to see you again so soon." My mother said and laughed at her own lame joke.
"Dinners going to be a little longer than expected. Would you like something to drink. Willard's already by the bar in the sitting room" Mom said.
Little did she know dad had already gotten a head start on the drinking too.
"I think I'll give him a hand" the king said.
