He woke up disoriented and dizzy, moaning because he couldn't remember what happened the night before. He and his wife attended a wedding, probably going home late, buzzed and most likely drunk from the overflowing drinks. He knew they were able to go home - at least that was what he was telling himself - but he didn't remember how he was even able to get to bed.

With his eyes still closed, he tried to remember what exactly happened but came up blank.

"Ungh... Shit. Ang sakit ng ulo ko... Maine?" he called, voice raspy from sleep.

He then tried to open his eyes and tried to also stretch his limbs only to find out that he couldn't. Suddenly fully awake, he bolted from the bed in panic and promptly sprawled on the floor.

Shit! Fuck! Why are my wrists and feet tied? And tangina - wala akong makita! Ano 'to?!"

"Maine? Shit... MAINE!! MAINE, NASAAN KA?!" he shouted, panic and fear suddenly evident in his voice.

He then heard a soft sniffle coming at what he thought was the other end of the room.

"Maine?? Sumagot ka! Ikaw ba yang naririnig ko??"

"RJ..."

Hearing his wife's voice, he let out a sigh of relief although he knew that they were far from being safe. "Keep talking. I need to hear your voice para mapuntahan kita."

"RJ... Wala akong makita."

"You're blindfolded as well?" he asked as he tried to stand up and hop towards where he thought her voice was coming from.

"I -- I t-think so... I woke up na hilong hilo tapos my hands and feet are tied."

"Keep talking baby," he coaxed, slowly hopping towards her voice. "May naaalala ka bang nangyari kagabi?"

"We weren't that drunk," she softly replied, still sniffling. "I didn't drink too much at Sam's wedding naman at alam kong hindi ka rin. 2 beers lang diba?"

Now that the memories were slowly coming back, he did remember that he only drank two beers before calling it a night and asking his wife to go home.

So hindi kami lasing at maaga kaming umuwi.

"What else can you remember? Keep talking and try to hop towards my voice if you can. I'm near you na. I think."

"I --" she started, stammering out a reply. "I d-don't remember... RJ - I don't remember! Why can't I remember??"

"Maine, listen to me. You got to calm down. We need to figure out wha -- OOF!"

"RJ?? Anong nangyari? RJ!"

"Shit. Fuck! I think I just hit something. I can't get through. Wait - let me turn around," he responded, hopping around to try and feel with his hands that were tied behind his back what he just bumped into.

Ano 'to? Rehas?? Shit - are we separated by bars?? Fuck!! Pero teka... Ano 'to? What is this thing dangling from my hand?

"A key? Para saan?" he quietly asked himself.

"RJ?" Maine asked, her voice trembling out of fear. "I'm scared, love. What is going on?"

"I don't know baby pero --"

They both froze when they heard what sounded like static from a radio and then a booming, deep and frightening voice resonated within the walls of the room they were in.

"I see you've both awaken," the menacing voice said. "How did you find your accommodations? Well and good? I hope you both slept well."

"What do you want from us?!" RJ screamed, scared but angry at the same time. "Where are we? Why are we here?! Release us, right now!!"

"Tsk. Tsk," the voice answered, sounding amused. "That's not how you greet your host. Now, if you and your wife want to get out of this place - you would have to play by my rules."

"Rules?? What do you want?!" RJ asked, gritting his teeth and trying to keep his patience. But he was scared, not for him but mostly for Maine who was full out sobbing already at that moment. "Maine, love? We'll get out of here, I promise," he softly called towards her, trying to calm her.

"There, now that's the spirit! I love that! Now, you know that you woke up, tied and blindfolded but!" the voice stopped for dramatic purposes. "With a key dangling from the rope on your wrists."

So susi nga ito. Pero para saan?? Tangina - ano ba ito??

"That key opens the prison of your wife, RJ --"

He knows me! Tangina - sino 'to?!

"And vice versa. Your key opens his prison, Maine."

And shit - Maine...

"Now, here's how we are going to do this. You both have the keys to each other's freedom. BUT! You need to be able to open your partner's prison in 20 minutes."

20 minutes?? Is he serious?? Nang nakablindfold at nakatali?? At hindi namin alam kung nasaan ang lock??

"Otherwise..." at this, the voice left what would happen hanging and laughed menacingly.

"Let the games begin..."
