They sat there, waiting as the photographer was changing his lens with the rest of the crew around them telling them to take a short break.

It was late afternoon and they were called by their student council to pose for some sample graduation pictures that they could show to the graduating class as options. They were in their senior year in high school and since they were deemed to be the hottest couple around campus - naturally, it was them who the student council called on for photos.

So they continued to sit there, as she looked towards the outside quite absentmindedly while he - he looked at her intensely.

She didn't know that he was staring at her. She didn't know that he was memorizing every inch and bit of her. She didn't know that he was thanking God at that moment for her.

Because she chose him.

Out of every guy out there on campus that had the hots for her - she chose him.

Why?

He didn't really know. She was the hottest and most intelligent girl in school. All the guys wanted her. All the girls wanted to be her.

Him? He was but a jock. The school's star quarterback. Sure, that could count for something. Most especially when the class valedictorian and head cheerleader chose to go out with you.

Most really weren't surprised. Of course, it was an obvious choice that she should go out with him. And vice versa.

But that really wasn't the case between them.

Oh, he had to work for her. Work damn hard to get her to go out with him. Even on the pretense of asking to have a study date with her felt like extracting a tooth from a baby T-Rex. She eventually relented when he showed her how sincere he was. And how true his intentions were. It did help also that he amped the charm he used on her with his quick wit and bedimpled grin.

They said that she fell in love first. To that - both of them would agree.

Him, jokingly. Her, grudgingly.

But him? Him? Oh, he fell the hardest.

He loved her more than the earth loved the sun. He loved her more than the ocean waves that kisses the shore. He loved her more than the flowers that loved the rain. He loved her more than oxygen.

He loved her more than she loved him.

He loved her. Period.

And he made sure that she always knew.

"What are you looking at?"

"You."

"Why?"

"Nothing."

"Really now, RJ?"

"Yep."

"I need the truth here."

"Fine. Because I am one lucky bastard to have you in my life, Nicomaine. I hope you know that I have no intention of letting you go. Ever."

"Good."

"Good?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because you have to know also that you are stuck with me for life now, Faulkerson. Deal with it."

"God, I love you. So damn much."

"Damn right you should. And I love you, too."
