"Why are you asking for me?" bungad na tanong ni Arnie pagkapasok na pagkapasok niya ng opisina ni Joseph. Binaba niya ang kaniyang bag sa couch at nanatiling nakatayo. "You know it's inappropriate to ask me to see that girl knowing she harmed my daughter."
Nakasandal lang ngayon si Joseph sa kaniyang swivel chair habang inoobserbahan si Arnie. Who would have thought she's a great actress? She's standing there, in front of him as if she's not hiding anything from him.
"Tell me Arnie, how important is this group to you?"
She frowned, tila nandidiri. "What's with the cheesy question?"
"How are you taking this group? Are you even taking us seriously?"
Her brow arched, head tilted. Hindi niya makuha kung saan nanggagaling ang tanungan ni Joseph. Is this some kind of forum? Hindi niya naman inakalang may side na ganito ang master ng Sakamotos.
"I wouldn't be here if I'm not taking this group seriously."
"Oh?" a wicked smile plastered on his lips. He leaned closer to his desk at pinagsaklop ang dalawang kamay. He threw a sharp gaze to Arnie. "Then why did you lie when you said that Cheska is your daughter?"
Nawala ang pagkamataray ng kaniyang mukha. She almost took a backward step when Joseph threw that gaze. It's all over his face. Hindi niya nagugustuhan ang kaniyang nalaman.
Hindi rin naman niya inaasahan na ayos lang sa kaniya ang lahat kung sakaling malaman niya ang katotohanan.
But how the hell did he figure it out? Did he run a background check on her? Nalaman niya kaya nito na hindi siya maaaring magkaanak? If that is the case, that information isn't one hundred percent reliable.
She can still get out of this.
"She is my daughter," she said decisively. "Are we talking about her now? It's creeping me out hearing her name from your mouth."
"Arnie..." Joseph called, nagtitimpi. "Why...did you lie...when you said that girl is Arvin's child?"
That's what she thought.
The moment Joseph dropped Arvin's name, alam niyang wala na siyang kawala. He didn't just run a background check on her. Kung iyon lang ang kaniyang ginawa, hinding hindi niya malalaman ang tungkol kay Arvin.
No one knows Cheska's real identity aside from her and her son. Could it be Joshua? There's no way.
That boy will never betray her.

Halos mapatalon siya sa gulat ng biglang pagsigaw ni Joseph. Mukhang tuluyan ng naubos ang kaniyang pasensya. Not only she denied it in front of him, hindi pa rin niya ito nabibigyan ng sagot.
The guard returned his eyes from the door of Joseph's office to Lorenzo. "Mr. Young, kailangan niyo ng pong umalis. We are dead if he knows you are here."
Kahit ayaw umalis iyon na lang ang kaniyang ginawa. He left the place with worry. There's no way those two are not talking about Cheska and Arvin. Kahit papaano, naiintindihan na niya kung bakit hindi siya kasama sa kanilang usapan.
Now it's proven that those two are really hiding something from him. Na talagang tinago nila ang katotohanang kilala na nila ang Lees.
"Arnie! Fucking answer me!"
"What answer do you want to hear from me huh?" bumalik nanaman ang kaniyang pananaray. "Why do I need to explain myself?!"
"Because you have Arvin's child! That girl isn't just a girl, Arnie!"
