Natigilan si Cheska at Lorenzo nang biglang sumulpot ang isa't isa sa kanilang harapan. Kakabukas lang ni Cheska ng pintuan sa kaniyang kwarto para makapunta na ng throne room nang makita niya si Lorenzo sa harapan noon.

He lowered his hand, hindi natuloy ang pagkatok.

"Do you need anything? Everyone's at the throne room now." sinarado niya na ng tuluyan ang pintuan kaya umatras si Lorenzo para bigyan siya ng madadaanan.

Hindi siya umalis sa kinatatayuan niya. She just stared at Lorenzo, waiting for what he's about to say. Halata naman sa kaniyang mukha na may gusto siyang sabihin. He's just hesitating.

"I just want to see you before you sit on that throne," he said. "to make sure you are fine."

Cheska smiled with her smiling eyes. "Do I look like one?"

Hindi nakaimik doon si Lorenzo. That's another reason why he's hesitating. Halata naman kasi sa mukha ni Cheska na hindi siya okay. She is smiling but anyone can tell it's a lie.

She's just trying to smile because she has to. She's about to face her own people. She needs to be tough. Tougher than everyone else in that place.

"Let's go?"

"Sure."

Sabay sila ngayong naglalakad papunta sa elevator para makarating na ng throne room. For sure everyone is already there. Hindi na rin niya makita ang kaniyang mga pinsan.

Nakakahiyang katahimikan ang bumalot sa kanila nang makapasok sa elevator. It's just the two of them so it's really a little bit awkward. Looks like Cheska doesn't mind it at all anyway. There's a lot of things going on inside her mind now.

She might be nervous. Still mourning. Angry. Who knows?

"It's not your fault," she said after her long silence. "I bet you're blaming yourself for what happened to her."

Hindi naman iyon maipagkakaila ni Lorenzo. He was blaming himself and he is still blaming himself. He's the one who put Rowena in comatose and if only he didn't do such things...he might have the strength and consciousness to defend herself.

Pero hindi. Dahil tulog siya, she was killed on her sleep. She had no chance to defend herself. Ni baka nga hindi niya alam na mamamatay na pala siya dahil natutulog lang naman siya ng payapa.

"I am not blaming you. No one's blaming you."

He couldn't say anything. Deep inside his heart, he knows he took a part in the former mistress's death. Kung sino man ang pumatay sa kaniya—could be Joseph—tila tinulungan niya ito para mapatay niya ng walang kahirap hirap si Rowena.

It's like removing her limbs so she couldn't fight back.

Lakas na lang talaga ng loob na nandoon siya. If not because of the alliance, he might not be there at times like this.

Bumukas na ang elevator kaya umurong na sila pasulong. It's just Cheska's heels clicking ang nadidinig sa paligid. Tila isang naging ghost building ang main building dahil walang makitang tao sa paligid.

It's not like everyone is literally inside the throne room. Sobrang dami ng kanilang tauhan at hindi iyon kakayanin ng espasyo ng throne room. The only ones inside that room are the Lees living and working inside the main building.

Kung walang tao sa main building, malamang sa kabilang mga building ay meron.

As they enter the throne room, everyone's heads turned to them. Gumawa sila ng aisle sa gitna so Cheska could walk to the throne room without any problems. Si Lorenzo naman, he left her side the moment she got closer to it.
