Kayla's POV
I was in the guest bedroom throwing clothes into my backpack while crying. I couldn't believe Jace hurt me physically. I couldn't stay here anymore, he obviously doesn't want me here.

I packed everything I needed and wrote a note...

Jace,

By the time you read this I will be gone, I'm sorry for everything I put you through. Please don't come looking for me, I'm better off on my own.

I taped the note to the nightstand and grabbed my phone and my backpack, I walked over and opened the window and crawled out. When my feet were on the ground,  I took off running. I didn't wanna be somewhere I'm not wanted.

I ran and ran until I couldn't run anymore. By the time I stopped running I found myself in a different city. It was a small town outside of Sacramento.

I didn't think I ran that far, it was getting dark and I was hungry. I went into a restaurant and took a seat.

The waitress came over and asked" Hi, What can I get you today?".

I answered" Umm.. I'll have a hamburger".

The waitress said" Alright, I'll be right back with your food".

I sat there and waited for my burger, the waitress came and set a plate in front of me.

I ate my burger quickly and left. I kept walking and walking through this small town until I got tired. I didn't know exactly how far I went.

I decided to find somewhere to sleep for the night, I found a tree and set my stuff down.... I sat and looked at the arm Jace grabbed. It was purple and swollen and it hurt a lot. He left a big bruise.

I laid Down on the grass and closed my eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Jace's POV
I felt so bad for losing my temper and yelling at Kayla. I didn't mean to, I was just really upset. I knew I had to go apologize.

I got up off my bed and left my room, I knocked on the bedroom door that Kayla was staying in but nobody answered.

I said" Kayla". I opened the door but she wasn't there, I walked over to the night stand and saw a note taped to it.

The note read :

Jace,

By the time you read this I will be gone, I'm sorry for everything I put you through. Please don't come looking for me, I'm better off on my own.

Kayla.

After I read it, I stood up and punched the wall. It's all my fault that she left. I had to find her, I went downstairs to talk to my mom.

My mom was downstairs watching TV, I went into the living room and said" Mom, Kayla's gone".

My mom looked alarmed" Do you know where she went?".

I shook my head" She ran away because of me".

My mom said" We can track her phone, her parents left me a tracking number in case something ever happened".

I nodded and followed my mom into the kitchen, my mom opened her laptop and went onto the tracking program.

She typed in the tracking number of Kayla's phone.

About 5 minutes later a location popped up, she was somewhere in a small town.

I grabbed my phone and left my house, not caring about anything else. I needed Kayla.

It took me two hours when I arrived in the small town, I started walking around looking for Kayla. I followed my GPS and found Kayla asleep by a tree.

I ran over to her and shook her awake, Kayla looked at me and asked" Jace?.. How did you find me? ".

I answered" Tracking number".

Kayla stood up and snapped" Leave me alone, What part of I hate you don't you understand".

I said" I know your mad at me, but please just come home with me".

Kayla sighed and said" Fine". I watched as she grabbed her backpack and stuff. We headed back home, it took less time getting home then actually getting here.

When we walked through the door my mom worriedly said" Kayla, Your okay. I'm glad we found you".

Kayla didn't say anything, she just went upstairs to the guest room and slammed the door shut.

I really messed up.....
