Chapter 41: Just Friends

Jace's POV
I woke up and quickly got out of bed and got dressed. I wanted to hurry up and get to the hospital to see Kayla. I was going to give a big apology.

I ran downstairs and grabbed a granola bar, I told my mom where I was going and ran out the door.

I entered the hospital and walked to Kayla's room. When I walked in she was still in a coma. I wish she would wake up already.

I sat down hoping she would wake up soon. After an hour, I went down to the cafeteria and ate a sandwich.

When I walked back into Kayla's hospital room, I saw her eyes were open.

I happily said" I'm so glad your okay". I went and sat down in the chair next to her bed.... I was happy she was awake.

Kayla asked" Why are you here,  I thought you didn't care?".

I Replied" I care about you a lot, I'm sorry for everything I did. You mean everything to me Kayla".

Kayla's POV
I didn't know what I was supposed to say to Jace, I was tired of being hurt... I didn't know if I should believe him or not.

I replied" Jace... I don't know.. You hurt me".

Jace Begged' Please Kayla, I'm sorry I keep hurting you and I keep messing up... But I want you to know that I love you".

It was hard to forgive Jace after everything he's done. I didn't want things to be difficult anymore.

I said" Jace...You've been my best friend for a long Time, We've been a lot together... and I'm sorry but I don't want things to be like this anymore. I'm tired of fighting for you. It makes me so stressed knowing that I have a possibility of losing you to someone else every 5 seconds, I just wanna be friends.. things were less complicated".

Jace looked sad" I understand, Maybe it's for the best".

I nodded" You will always be my best friend though, nothing can change that".

Jace smiled a little" Thanks Kayla". He hugged me when Diana walked in.

Diana came over to me and happily said" Kayla your awake!".

I smiled" Yeah".

Diana hugged me" I'm so glad your okay".

I hugged her back" Thanks for finding me".

Diana said" I was so worried and so was Jace, we care about you Kayla".

I replied" I'm happy you found me".

The nurse came in with my release papers. Diana and Jace helped me into my wheel chair and they helped me get home.

When I got home my dad hugged me tightly and said " Don't run away ever again Makayla".

I promised" I promise I won't dad". It's been a long time since he's called me by my full first name.

My Dad helped me upstairs to my bedroom, I laid down in my bed and fell asleep.

For once I don't have the stress I did when I was dating Jace....
