Kayla's POV
I woke up at about 7:45am. I picked up my phone and checked it. I stretched and made my way out of bed. I headed downstairs and drank some coffee. I saw a note from my dad

The note said: -Kayla

went to work early, won't be home tonight. Love you.

-Dad

I sighed and said to myself" Of course". I made some pancakes and toast and sat at the table and ate and drank my coffee. I finally decided to get ready for the day.

I headed upstairs and put on a pair of skinny jeans and a light blue sweater and my light blue flats and I curled my hair. I decided to go hang out at the park by myself.

I walked to the park and sat down under a tree... I started reading a fanfiction book... I was thirsty, I got up and went to look for something to drink.

I was stupid and I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking. Someone ran into me, I fell to the ground...

The person who ran into me said" Oh, I'm really sorry for running into you, I wasn't paying attention".

I looked up and saw a boy who looked to be about my age... He had short brown hair kinda like Jace's but a little longer not much... He was really cute..

I said" It's fine, it was an accident. I wasn't paying attention either".

The boy reached his hand down to help me up and he said" I'm Cody".

I smiled and said" I'm Kayla". He was like really cute and nice..

Cody said" Um.. Let me buy you something to drink, it'll make up for me running over you".

I laughed a little" You really don't have to".

Cody smiled" I want to, it'll make up for what I did".

I said" Um.. Okay". We walked and he bought me a bottle of water. We got to talking and getting to know each other, he was really nice, and curious about me.

We walked around the park and talked for like an hour... It was the nicest conversation ever..

He finally said" Well, I have to go but.. We should hang out again".

I smiled and gave him my number" See ya".

I then walked home, I walked past Jace's house and stopped in front of it... Jace was outside...

I walked over to him and asked" Hey.. Can I talk to you?".

Jace looked at me curiously and said" Sure". I came and sat down next to him.

I was so happy about Meeting Cody that I apologized to Jace" I'm sorry for not accepting that you like someone else, I want you to know that I'm totally okay with it".

Jace looked at me shocked" Wow.. Really? Your okay with me being with Diana?".

I nodded" Yes, I know you will always be my best friend, even though you make me mad".

Jace smiled and hugged me" Thanks Kayla".

I saw Diana coming towards us.. I stood up and asked" Diana? Can I talk to you?".

Diana said" Sure... What do you want?".

I teared up a little and said my apology" I'm sorry for being so selfish lately, I should have never said that you couldn't date Jace, I miss having you around... I have nobody to laugh or be crazy with, I'm sorry".

When Diana and I were best friends before I met Jace, We were so crazy... We went on so many adventures. We didn't care what people thought of us.. We walked to our own beat.. She was always there for me.

Diana smiled" I forgive you Kayla, I miss having you as a best friend". I ran up and hugged her tightly and smiled.

Jace said" Awe, Happy moment". Diana and I laughed. I was too happy to care..

I stood there talking with Jace and Diana, I saw Jace and Diana holding hands. I felt my phone vibrate, I looked and saw I had a message from Cody.

The conversation

Cody: Heyy... I had fun talking to you today.

Kayla 💖: I did too, you really understand me..

Cody: Do you maybe wanna go see a movie with me?

Kayla 💖: I would love to.

Cody: I'll meet you at the theater at 7:30..

Kayla 💖: Okay, see you then.

I started jumping around happily in front of Jace and Diana.

Diana asked" Why are you so happy?".

I happily said" I met a boy".

Diana happily jumped"oh my gosh, tell me more".

I giggled" His name is Cody and he's super cute and nice and he asked me to go to the movie theater with him".

Diana and I squealed...

The funny thing was Jace looked kinda jealous....
