Garroth's Point of View:
I think now it was safe to say that (Y/n) and I were close. How could you not want to be close to a woman like her?
She was smart, reasonable and humorous (not to mention, stunning). She didn't condemn me for my past actions and most of all, she was fierce.
I think her fierceness was what struck me with awe.
Now, I wasn't aware she possessed this trait until recently when she visited me in the Irene Dimension. When she had arrived, she began to speak quickly, summarizing the highlights of her day.
"So, I guess Irene felt a bit offended that I laughed at her new name, because the next thing I knew, I was being thrown into a dungeon!" she had exclaimed. I remember laughing at her fume.
"Really? Who moved you to the dungeon?" I asked curiously. She sighed and placed a hand on her chin, thinking back to her previous events.
"His name... I think his name was Laurance." My eyes widened at the familiar name.
"Laurance? He's my friend," I said. "We were like brothers...until I betrayed his trust." I looked to the side in shame and shook my head. (Y/n)'s soft hand grabbed my chin and hoisted it up gently, causing me to stare right at her. My face flushed lightly at her boldness.
"Garroth, I'm sure Laurance knows that none of this was your fault," she reasoned. "If he thinks you're capable of being perfect, then he's wrong. You are bound to mistakes--everybody is! If he, or your friends can't understand that--" (Y/n) paused and let her arm drop to her side.
"Then perhaps they aren't the empathetic friends you need in your life." I smiled softly and looked into her eyes. It was so hard to look away.
'Why is it so hard for me to look away?'
And suddenly, a swirl of emotions began to fill my stomach. And my knees were about to go limp. I hastily leaned against the large oak tree. (Y/n) seemed to take notice of my sudden movement.
"Oh, Garroth! Are you all right?" she asked worriedly. I nodded my head quickly.
"I'm fine," I reassured. "I'm just a bit...dizzy." My statement wasn't exactly a lie, either. I just didn't tell (Y/n) the whole truth. What was the truth?
She was the one making me go dizzy.
(Y/n) eyes still followed me as I stood and her eyebrows creased. She then, abruptly took one my hands and squeezed it lightly. My eyes widened a fraction and my face grew warm.
'Does this woman want to kill me?'
"You don't deserve what you're going through," she started off slowly, taking her gaze off of me, making me sigh in relief. She looked out onto endless field of grass. I followed her gaze.
"What you did was a bit irrational--I'll admit that. But what you're going through now?" She shook her head.
"You sacrificed yourself for your comrades after you realized your mistakes. Many people can't do that in the heat of the moment. But you...you just--did it. You saved your friends. And now, there is a possibility that you could be missing so much of your life and the lives of others," (Y/n) reflected. I sighed. A part of me was glad that (Y/n) acknowledged what I had done to save my comrades. But a part of me felt like I didn't deserve it.
