3rd Person Point of View:
Garroth opened his eyes. Although it was dark, he could somewhat make out the trace of your figure in front of him. Once his eyes had adjusted, he was able to see a bit more clearly. You were sleeping soundly. He watched as you inhaled and exhaled calmly; small snores eradiating from you. Garroth smiled.
Adorable. He thought. Garroth proceeded to lie down on his backside. He quietly groaned when he found that he wasn't getting comfortable at all.
Garroth couldn't sleep and it wasn't just because you were lying right next to him (although, this wasn't the first time).
Ever since he had obtained the relic, he couldn't stop thinking about it. Anybody would do the same. After all, unintentionally attaining a bunch of energy isn't necessarily... safe.
But that wasn't all. Garroth felt... off. He had been feeling it all night. Something in the atmosphere. As if something were tempting him to fulfill its lingering presence.
That was it. Garroth sighed as he sat up on his side of the bed. Once he was standing, he found some decent clothes to change into. Garroth walked over to the small desk in the corner of the room. Opening one of its drawers, he pulled out a slightly large, brown book.
Legends of Irene. The book's gold title glistened under the little light that was provided from the stars that shown in the night sky through the window. (A/N: That was a long sentence; lol)
Garroth clutched the book under his arm and got up, ready to leave. But before he could, he glanced behind him. There you were, still lying peacefully on the bed. Your hair was all messy and sprawled out on the pillow beneath you, and soft snores emitted from you with every breath.
Garroth made his way over to your side of the bed, and placed a gentle kiss on your forehead. A look of comfort graced your facial features. It made Garroth smile. "I love you," he whispered softly before exiting the room.
When Garroth reached the upper level of the ship, he contemplated whether he should read on the boat, or somewhere in the woods.
"It's safer here," he told himself. But as he sat down on the wooden floor, something urged him to get up and look beyond the forest. Something lurked there. The same presence he had sensed earlier was beginning to give him that weird feeling again.
Garroth shook it off, trying his best to ignore it. Although it was impossible, he tried to make himself comfortable in his position. Garroth opened the book and began to read:
Enki the Keeper
Region: Gal'ruk
Relic: Unknown
Relic Holder: Unknown till this date. But many believe that Enki's soul still roams with the power of his relic. Only one who is a direct bloodline decent can obtain the relic from his soul, which is what makes Enki's relic so special. Nobody can obtain it except for those of bloodline.
Garroth hummed in interest. For now, he'd settle on reading about the Divine before he could ask you about your knowledge of the Divine. You would definitely be a lot more helpful than this book.
Powers: Also unknown till this date. Enki preferred to study the energy of his power, rather than use it. All records about his powers have either been scorched, or buried. Unfortunately, the author prefers not to state said powers.
Descendant(s): Unknown till this date as well. Many often wonder where the divine end up after reincarnation. Enki's last reincarnation is not being recorded hence, no man knows when it happened. This leads others to believing that Enki has not yet let his relic go; and that his soul and form roams in the region of Gal'ruk.
Reincarnation: Unknown till this date.
Home: An island within the Gal'ruk Sea.
Extra: Enki was a scholar. He was greatly intelligent and had acquired almost all his knowledge through many different books. Enki had kept many books on his adventures with his fellow Divine Warriors. But after his first cycle of reincarnation, the records were nowhere to be found.
"Nowhere to be found?" Garroth asked himself quietly. All of a sudden, the same uneasy feeling had hit him. Garroth was now on high alert. Regardless if it was only him, he knew he had felt something. And it had happened more than once, which couldn't have meant anything good.
"Hey Garroth," a voice rang out. Garroth abruptly stood up and turned to the source of the voice. He relaxed when he saw who it was.
"Oh, Aphmau. It's just you." Garroth slumped back down on the ship's deck. Aphmau giggled and moved to sit next Garroth.
"You couldn't sleep either?" she asked after a moment of silence. Garroth shook his head and ran a hand through his hair.
"Not at all. I've been getting this weird uneasy feeling all night. I just came out here to read and get some fresh air. But that isn't helping so well," he replied. Aphmau hummed.
"I was getting this weird feeling earlier as well. It was beginning to make my stomach hurt, so I came to get some fresh air as well. But now, I only feel like it's gotten stronger," she finished. Garroth nodded. His attention returned to the book as soon as Aphmau had finished speaking. She raised a brow and glanced at the book Garroth was holding.
"What is your book about?" she asked while pointing. Garroth brushed the pages against his fingers.
"It's about the Divine Warriors. The majority talks about their history and the relic histories." Aphmau gnawed at her bottom lip. Anytime the 'Divine Warriors' were brought up, she'd always feel nervous. She already had to deal with the fact that she may be Irene in the flesh.
But on the other hand, Aphmau did need answers. You'd been trying to tell her something important for the longest time. And if Aphmau really was Irene, then what you were trying to tell her this whole time... was true!
"Garroth, would you mind if I borrow that book after you're done? I... might want to learn a few things about Irene and her comrades..." Garroth glanced at Aphmau. A soft smile slowly crept upon his face. He chuckled.
"Of course. But I'd need to ask (Y/n) first. It actually belongs to her. But even then, I'm positive she wouldn't mind," Garroth replied. Aphmau returned his smile. This would help her a lot. And maybe, she'd ask you a few questions as well...
Aphmau froze for a second. She was feeling funny again. It wasn't quite good either. It was almost as if an evil presence lurked; and from as far as what she could tell, it was coming from the forest.
"You felt that, right?" Garroth whispered. He looked a little on edge. The 'feeling' was quite frankly a disturbing one. Garroth got up and quickly gave Aphmau a hand. Once she was up, she briefly dusted off her pants.
"So are we going to check out the forest?" Aphmau thought for a second. If checking out the forest meant riding of this weird feeling, then checking out the forest was probably the best thing to do.
"Yes. But we might need some help," Aphmau responded. Garroth nodded.
"I know just the person."
A/N: You weren't in this chapter much. You're probably mad at me and just screaming: "WHERE THE HECK IS OUR LIME?! YOU PROMISED US A LIME!!!!"
I know. I did. And I'm still writing it. I don't know about other authors, but sometimes I need to physically write out my chapters before I publish them. It's supposed to make me feel good about my writing. But that isn't really working...
